Isaac has a super mental power. Even though hes human, not only that he has the capacity to single handedly wipe out the necromorph abominations that killed everyone on the Ishimura but also fight off the trauma and messages that the marker has inflicted on his mind. This marker not only has the biohazard power to control the dead, but it can also control the living. Any maker that humans comes in contact with eventually start losing thier minds. the side effects vary on humans. There are cases of severe headaches, nightmares, premonitions, some experience severe depression, self harm, harm to others, and extreme cases they lose all cognitive function and become resistant to setitaves, percieving any living thing as hostile and will kill anything near them. Issac tries so hard with all of his will power to not only fight off the mecromorph but also fight off the mental entity of the makers doing to spread the convergance like the cancer that has poisoned every humans minds. Its a never ending battle that will haunt Isaac until his own death.

Dang Isaac was a lot older than I thought during the events of DS1. I thought he was in his mid-thirties, but he was 43.

I'm genuinely fascinated about the fact that everything that Isaac had been through was useless at the end. The presence of a "god" is in fact the ultimate sacrifice of hope. As the events of the eclipse in the Berserk manga, there will always be a point where your merely mortal flesh can do absolutely nothing against it.

It's always seems like the Issacs father was meant to have a bigger impact in the dead space universe I hope that a novel/spin off about issacs father gets made to know what kind of man he was.

Isaac's father disappearing and having his record hidden by the government, sounds like an interesting plot point. I wonder if it was originally meant to lead to a greater revelation in the story?

Isaac has had it the worst of any character in video games. Worse than the Doom Slayer, worse than Master Chief. The brethren moons are worse than the dark lord and gravemind combined, because they make deals, while the moons only spread their malicious infection.

Dead space's story itself is absolutely under appreciated in terms of how brilliant it is in terms of content.

I find it very difficult and improbable that Isaac Clark stayed sane and didn’t break. No one has this much mental ability.

I still think the ending to Awakened is a DS1 style fake out and was the Moons' last ditch effort to stop Isaac and Carver from warning Earth.
A final attempt to break their minds or simply trick them into thinking Earth was lost and there was no point in delivering the warning.
