Where did you get your wood stove?

We live in a 1900 Victorian, and we have a pellet stove - with the piping through the wall, etc. It's on brick. And yes, we love ours! We would prefer a woodstove, but we bought the house with the pellet stove already installed. When you know, you know! =)

Just found this video. Everything is super cozy. I like your wood stove but we have an insert in our fireplace with a built in blower and it is how we heat our whole house all winter long. So the right insert does do the job. You have the room for that stove but our living room is long and narrow and a huge stove like that would not work.

Spray your dried florals with extra hold hairspray. Works like a charm and is invisible.

When asked how to keep the dried flowers and grasses from making a mess is to spray it with aerosolized hairspray. Also, it’s used for pencil / charcoal drawing a from smearing.

I had to pause to say, I’ve seen where someone used embroidery thread (what you’d use to do needle pointing with) to repair their rugs. There are so many colors, I’m sure you could find one to closely match…if you haven’t found a new rug by now. It sure is beautiful!

Yes! A free-standing wood-burner heats a home far more efficiently than an insert model. You get heat from all sides of the unit, including from the flue, radiating out to warm a home. We have one and, yes, it takes up more space but it has a real presence and is a wonderful focal point. And, at the end of the day, if that's the only heat source (as is the case in our home too), practically must always win!

Use hairspray to keep things from shedding.

Just turn the rug towards the couch, and you save money. I'm sure that side is not frayed

Any fine rug store for 10 cents an inch or a bit more can sew a new edging any color. I have had this done.

If you use real cheap aerosol hair spray on your dried flowers they won’t shed. Might take a couple of coats but it works.
