Would this ball be similar to a storm snap lock? Or what ball would be similar?
ОтветитьI took your recommendation for the IQ Tour Ruby several months ago and purchased one since I need a mid-late ball for when the ally's break down. First off I tried it out of box and it was wonderfully angular and I threw a 225 in my first game with the out of box finish. I did refinish it but did not get the same results until I started opening up the angles. Last night I started using it in the middle of the second game and it was great all the way through the third game. When everyone else was fighting the land breaking down, I was hitting the pocket easily from board 8-9 and threw a 235 in the 3rd game. So I have to say your review was absolutely spot on with the exception of the out of box finish. Thanks for all you do with your reviews!!!
ОтветитьDid you drill the ruby pin up or down for the straighter bowler
ОтветитьWhen you say "Step 2 Compound" are you talking about 320-1500 grit from Storm? Or something else?
ОтветитьThe SPI lineup doesn’t have too many mid-control balls (Zen). Would you consider the IQ Tour (blue) a mid-control ball while the IQ Ruby would be mid-late?
ОтветитьHi there! I am lefty and I am thinking to drill it Strong with Pin Down to use after the urethans on the short middle pattern, how do you see that? thanks in advance
ОтветитьDo you think it be good to have both the Ruby and Fate in line up with different grits with same layout?
ОтветитьCompletely agree with the factory finish. My ruby felt super skiddy and lazy until I refinished it to 3000.
Hope the next review is the black venom!
The IQ Tour Ruby appears to have the same shape & backend as my Hyped Pearl but maybe reads a little earlier. Do you see these two overlapping?
ОтветитьOh look... another set of lanes with no Back end Break Lines... There needs to be a standard for bowling lanes... Those Break lines are EXTREMELY important for honing your accuracy... without them you are likely guessing based on arrows alone.. and if you are not accustomed to looking down like a child does... and instead look for those markers... you are basically having to retrain your brain on every house pattern... every professional pba lane... has these... and if the goal is to pipeline competitive bowlers into pba events via ptqs... standardizing the lanes would help tremendously in achieving this...Lets also not forget lane topography... some lanes have dents and pot holes in the lane you can see from the moment you walk into the establishment... and Lanes need to lose their USBC certification and be forced to replace old lanes as needed and NOT 10 years after their life expectancy + ignoring damaged lanes. Also the pin deck... the width of the entire lane needs to be reduced because most lanes have too wide of a back end... which causes lots of wrap tens... and 7s. With the properly reduced side walls in the back... THE USBC saw a significantly higher rate of strikes...
Dont get me started on ball returns and cleaning up rails and belts.. or hell just adjusting the tensioner so the balls don't CLUNK when they return and scratch/gouge bowling balls. There needs to be a Unified Bowling Ally Standard- If they offer certified USBC Leagues... then they need to make sure they are certified lanes and meet PBA or USBC PTQ standards.
Great review!! I’m not good enough to need a new ball yet - but this is a great assessment! Thank you!
Ответитьit seemed like Tyler? fouled almost every shot
ОтветитьI hear a lot of people don't like the "Reacta Gloss" finish. I haven't gotten any new Storm balls since the change, so I don't know the deal with that one.
ОтветитьR2S .. pass That cover has never worked for me.
ОтветитьWould you say a 1000 , 2000 grit +polish by hand would still be better than OOTB ?
ОтветитьNever seen a ball look so good for all of you
ОтветитьHell yes! I love that you guys change the covers. A very “let’s get real here” take on covers.
ОтветитьFirst
