It worked for me pretty well with a self-hosted installation of wordpress using Open Lite Speed, pretty impressive, I guess the error was that my FTP Client wasn't setting the file perrmissions properly. I installed it on my server via ftp and execute it on shell using 'bash *your directory location*/wordpressfix.sh¨. Worked like a charm!

For me chmod 755 didnt work
Chmod 777 worked perfectly

This fixed my plugins, and my themes. Here's what I ran it as via putty:

sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/
sudo find /var/www/html/ -type d -exec chmod 755 {} \;
sudo find /var/www/html/ -type f -exec chmod 644 {} \;
