One for fashion, one for work!
ОтветитьWhich is waterproof/resistant? Which boots' outsole will last longer?
ОтветитьFound a decet pairof 1907's at my local thrift storefor$20 today! I'm going to clean them up and wear them this weekend for my girlfriends birthday!
ОтветитьCould you do a 10875 vs the 875 mic toe? They look the same but I wonder if they are built the same. Stores say that they are the same and there is no difference
ОтветитьGreat comparison!
I have the 1907 and I really like the color over the 875, plus you get leather laces too, that's my biggest difference between the two.
1907 has less toe spring than no. 23 last.
ОтветитьLiterally just bought a pair of 1907’s like 2 hours ago. Wearing them while watching this. I have a thicker foot and definitely wide. Basically duck flippers. Anyway, I was wondering why these felt so…..thick on the bottom where my iron rangers don’t. I didn’t realize they came with the insole! Took that out and they’re 100% more comfortable. This will make the break in way easier. I feel dumb now……
ОтветитьI've been wearing the 10875's (nearly identical, but their explicitly work boot version) for a year or so now. I'm a big fat bastard with wide feet, so definitely the EE version of the boot and the soles broke in fairly easily. Better, the soles have withstood a year of my standing on them without any problems and are still comfortable. They're not soft, but my feet also feel good at the end of the day. I don't care what color the leather is exactly, so I soak them in leather waterproofer (KG-XTREME) and they are holding up really well so far. Glad I bought them.
ОтветитьSizing wise, I’m a 10.5 sneaker, 10 according to the techy thing in the red wing store, 10 in traction tred lite, so I decided to buy a pair of 875s in 10. However they were too roomy in the toes, and I could basically close the laces until you couldn’t see the tongue. 875s were too tight in a 9.5d, too wide in EE, and Red Wing has stopped making the 875 in a single E. I just exchanged them for the 1907 in 9.5D and without the footbed, they fit perfectly, with footbed, almost too tight. Just FYI in case anyone is in the same boat.
ОтветитьWhat is different about 10875 model???
ОтветитьThings like that fake welt annoying me it can't be much more work to do it properly literally the same just include the shoe upper in the stitching process just dumb.
Don't get me wrong id love those boots well out of my price league atm.
love the channel and information you bring. im about 5'10 148lbs and wear a normal shoe size of 8.5 and have narrow feet... what size would you recommend for me in the 1907s if I were to grab? not trying to have them look like clown shoes on me as im a thinner guy !
ОтветитьBought a pair of 1907 about a month ago. Im a GC and wear red wings virtually every day. Usually either the 1907 or the work chelsea. Sofar really liking both.
Ответитьnot sure why, but my 1907 fit really loose, I got the size recommended in the redwing store. I just wear the with 2 pairs of socks now. cuts down on chaffing anyways...maybe chaff cause they are too big. I may try to put in some different insoles like spenco.
Ответить1907 are by far better than the JK 300. Just in quality of materials and workmanship. Rose please stop pandering to the company’s that sponsor your videos and be honest.
ОтветитьThe soles of both are too soft and not suitable for walks in the forest as the profile of the soles is gone in a few months. Luckily there are cobblers who put new soles on the moc toes, like the Vibram sierra with a soft in between layer.
ОтветитьThe toes are higher on the 875
ОтветитьI think there is a bunch of videos by guys who never wore work boots to work . Hit me up I let you know what the best work boots are from imagine this working in them .
ОтветитьI'd like the 1907 better if they'd lose the fake stitch and leave it as a storm welt.
ОтветитьAwesome videos. Thanks for chopping these boots in half to let us know which brands are skimping out on quality and which brands making them right.
ОтветитьHi
Love your content. What is the difference between the RW 875 and the RW 10875? Thanks.
I own both, and really am liking the structured appearance of the 875. The 1907 just seem to be getting floppier and floppier. I enjoy the classic rigidity of my 875!
ОтветитьNot sure if anybody’s noticed but I went to Redwing today 2023 Feb and was trying on the 1907’s and underneath the insole is what looks like pouron cushion and not a veg tanned insole???
ОтветитьI love the look of a reverse welt 👍
ОтветитьI’m thinking of getting a pair of red wings, but I’m a little put off cause they dont have a shank. Do y’all think it matters or naw?
ОтветитьSomeone needs to make a master-mix of "slab of veg-tan".
ОтветитьDifference: FIT!
ОтветитьHow is the 1907 for people with flat feet ? Is comfortable? Anyone ?
ОтветитьHOW does this video have less than 100k views???
ОтветитьLove my 875 EE's. No break-in needed whatsoever.
40 years ago I had Irish Setter moc toes that took a month to break in but when that was accomplished , they fit perfectly.
Thanks for your post and assessment of Redwings which I agree with whole heartedly!
I've got my pair of 875s with me still. Three years strong and probably going to need a resole soon.
ОтветитьThank you for comparison. It needed to happen !
ОтветитьI know you probably get a lot of comments. I was at the Red Wing store recently and saw they had a moctoe in what they called "Traction tread lite" I have not found in depth reviews of these and would love to see your take
ОтветитьRED WING 1907 for all life, for sure!!
ОтветитьI’d love to see you cut some double H boots
ОтветитьPlease cut in half a 604 or 914. Very much want to see where they added the supposed comfort (other than the sole) and how this may affect longevity. Also, I really want to see what the only redwing boot with a gore-tex lining from the factory looks like.
ОтветитьI own 875s, 877s, and 1907s. I feel the 877s are the most comfortable. I wear the 875s for looks. I wear the 1907s as beaters.
To be fair to Red Wing, they do not claim the 1907s have a “Norwegian Welt”, which are double-stitched.
Red Wing advertises the boots as having a “Storm Welt”, which is single stitched.
Yes, the second stitch is decorative. But the boots are Storm Welted.
BTW, the toe box of the 877s are much wider than the 875s. 877s look similar to the 1907s.
I love my 1907
Ответитьi must like your channel, i watch ugly boots. i do not know anyone that wears ugly Mocs. i will watch your channel cause you are the best .
ОтветитьI just bought a pair of 1907 boots last night. The welt style looks nice but disappointing to find out the upper stitch isn't actually functional, despite Red Wings marketing copy that says, "storm welt adds additional water resistance"... Actually that false marketing part is annoying. I like the color and finish of the leather of both but I like the 1907 looks just a little bit more. Importantly, I have wide feet and orthotics and those are the decider. 1907 boots are best overall for me.
ОтветитьIsn't it an additional set of leather laces coming with the 1907 ?
ОтветитьJust bought a pair of 1907’s yesterday. Will find out how good they are. I also own 2 pair of style 405 soft toe, would be interested in seeing how the Asian made red wing moc toes are built.
ОтветитьThank you. Great job as usual.
ОтветитьI have the gore tex 8864s and would love to see them cut in half. Is the storm welt real, and how do they compare to traditional Red Wing moc toes.
Ответитьcan you to a red wing vs whites perry?
ОтветитьIf anything that flappy welt would collect and hold water and dirt rather than help keep it out.
Ответить1907s took forever to break in and aren’t really all that wide tbh. Great boot tho love em now but they still not super wide
Ответитьget the 1907
if you want
to add a
nice thick
insole
Is there any boot that's kinda well known with a true storm welt?
Ответить
