I think that gpt is good at teaching and generate smaller modules. All programmers hate writing documentation so asking for that is really good. I would like to have a front end that is graphic and that you can design your system and then the backend will generate prompts for gpt that implement the models you defined on the top level. Programming patterns like Factory and similar could be generated automatically with verbose dokumentation. It would also be nice if it generated test cases like unit tests. I see a future where gpt automates all the boring parts of programming and leave the fun part to us! I worked with AI in the 1980ies and we did some work on generating digital systems that from the top level generated program code and on the lower level generated hardware specialized for the software even down to the CPU instructions! Today we have FPGAs and maybe our vision would be possible now!

what this tells me is that it won't be long to where GPT will make hiring so many coders absolete. A company will only need to hire a few coders to over see its projects and the rest of data work will be handled by GPT. Watch, beware of the massive lay-offs and firing that will happen to coders. But what do i know, im just a dumb human. I could be wrong, hmmm, Let's ask GPT!

And as for the error you can actually paste it to chatgpt to give you the right code . Even i use it for SQL server management to run my query chatgpt will give mevthe right syntax except the table name is not in my database

Why didn't you troubleshoot the code that didn't work? ChatGPT can fix that. Paste those error messages and get ChatGPT to work with it.

Chatgpt struggles with complex and long assembly code. I never have a code that can compile successfully.

For the code part, you can paste the output with the errors into the chat. It will try to fix it's code based on the errors.

i actually didn’t even know what chatgbt was, i have only ever heard people make jokes about it. im trying to learn more about IT and just programming in general and have been learning so much. i dont really know where to start but ive been clicking on everything i can, specifically python at the moment and i think this will really help me:)

I love ChatGPT 4 in particular with plugins. I use it right now for assisting in research and writing to develop outlines. I've started looking at how it can also help with correcting functions/formulas in data analysis too, and that is so amazing!
It was interesting to see what you developed if you were trying to work with Python. That is next on my list of things to learn. I feel more confident now, knowing I can test things like that in ChatGPT.
I noted you used the free(?) ChatGPT in this video. Have you moved to GPT 4 and tried the plugins?

My first request - "I want to become a professional python programmer but I only know a little bit of the basics. I can study a few hours or more per day and I'm usually a visual learner and a hands on practice. I want to learn to code in python but need to have a solid foundation if I aspire to be an advanced python program. Create a study plan for me.

I am affraid its poor idea - at least if U use free chatGpt 3.5 AND U try to use it to teach U some math. Especially higher math. Its very frustrating. It even make some mistakes when I tried to create some draft of student script and design general content (about abstract algebra). I resigned after about 1.5h of trying many times and with different prompts. Its like it still speak at general level like wikipedia or even with less details.
