One day when I was stoned, I had this train of thought of the ball pit was actaully time travel. So in this thought, sister location happens. Mike gets scooped and starts looking for his dad. He then comes across the ball pit, travels back in time. Sees the mci, but can't do anything. So he wants to stop what happens but still a step behind. But that is why Mike gets fired for odor because he was already scooped with freddy spaghetti. I wish I would have recorded or wrote down these thoughts because weirdly enough I made it make sense. All threads had answers. Like f me, I solved fnaf but it includes a time traveling ball pit. This was years ago. Before into the pit game, ruin and others. So crazy.

Weird spitballing:
The group meeting was in a BARN, huh 👀.. and an experience of the ball pit that feels like drowning / in water... Sounds like HW to me...👀

Some kids use time travel to go back in the past (or maybe forward), perhaps it's GGY - who had scores on the arcade cabinets but seeminly nowhere to be seen in ITP game.

Kids went missing, like how Oswald was presumed missing after 'leaving' the present day and 'growing up'... what if in 1985, the kids did a similar thing, and/or if the resistance group in the BARN (if it's about 9 people?), they could somehow be the Security Breach missing people... again with Gregory and GGY references tying it to Security Breach... I'm wondering if it's somehow related (as well as with the happiest day).

If kids from 1985 used the ball pit, that means the agony is 'accessible' from their time period, so did an atrocity already happen before then, or is the agony itself transcending time?

Maybe the SB ballpit, overlooked by Sun/Moon, who was from the olden daysTM (mimic stuff), is luring kids to the SB ballpit, and they're going missing from that? Maybe it makes sense how GGY/Gregory appeared in ITP game and SB. Both have ballpits... Maybe the balls were reused from freddys / jeffs to the Pizzaplex. Fazbear isn't a stranger to cutting corners (fnaf 6 ig).

The SB newspaper missing kids, could be Chip & Co hence why they are unfased by the time travel but they decide to stay in 1985, hence them missing from 'present day' SB, and why GGY has been to 1985 as well... unlikely since Chip didn't say they were from the pit/used it, but still food for thought, i guess. :')

Do i know how any of this really works?
No.

(But it's fnaf so 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I don’t know if Oswald astral projecting or whatever when he puts on the party hat is actually supposed to suggest that none of this is real.
Recall that in the arcade game, we see Spring Bonnie put a hat on the fifth kid, after which the kid also loses control of themselves.
I think when it happens to Oswald it might just be the same phenomenon, but in first person.

My biggest hang up with the time travel options is that the MCI canonically just didn't happen that way. The kids weren't killed at the same time, and just went missing, so there wouldn't be any mass hysteria.

(I could see this fitting the DCI, but obviously, the time doesn't match)

I’m VERY excited to see your Poppy Playtime video. I don’t think the creature in the new trailer is the prototype tho. Lots of evidence in the trailer and the name of the trailer suggest this new villain is Harley Sawyer. How he was betrayed by Playtime Co. and turned into a monster by them. He’s become one with technology and has been watching us through the camera system this whole time.

With the book saying that there's only 5, it reinforces your theory. If in Return to The Pit you are reliving the memories of the MCI, then Oswald might be taking the place of the 6th child.

@Dual-Process-Theory
@Dual-Process-Theory - 26.12.2024 19:28

OKAY SO. Your hallucination theory is what makes the most sense. I don't know how I missed the first Deep-Pit description; to be fair, I was also half-watching some let's plays while I read it lmao. My friend Sean has had a Loop Theory since the game dropped; their theory is that the Bad Ending of the game is canon and Oswald's just been hallucinating since then, and the Best Ending is when Jake intervenes and gives him a happy memory to be trapped in (the pizza party). That could also explain how you get some endings in this book where you die before going into the pit; even that's part of the memory loop. I wonder if the "you're in someone else's memory" bit was supposed to tell us what Fritz was going through, since he's listed as the second to die in HW2 and Oswald sees one dead kid in the backroom? But idk.

What I realized recently is that if time-travel happens, it means that this book CANNOT be in game-canon. The normal ITP discrepancies between the MCI and Oswald Incident become wayyy more of an issue if you throw out the Agony Hallucination idea, considering we know in the game the bodies were never found and ITP has them... definitely noticed.

Also the definitive description of Five Children. I've seen people posit that Oswald is supposed to represent the sixth child, but that doesn't work; in this book, he directly states he only saw five children in the Party Room when the rabbit first attacked. In the game, we ALL can see six, and the game is ADAMANT that there were six what with all the minigames. So firstly this confirms that this book is not canon with the game; whether it's canon with Frights is still up for debate I guess?? I did notice that the phrase "half-a-dozen" was used to describe the Anti-Springtrap Avengers meeting so I wonder if that was a callback to the phrase that got everyone pissed five years ago. (Happy five years to ITP btw)

Also you know that I'm not a GoldenCassidy believer, but I've talked to other GoldenCassidy believers and we've all kinda agreed that positing her as the receiver of Happiest Day is weird as fuck considering... the Happiest Day is extremely extremely obviously something to do with Crying Child. It ALSO doesn't have her as the fifth child brought to the back room; the fifth child brought in is a "he." We know from the Party Hat Ending that the kids die as soon as they get to the party room, so them being alive is just in the pixel-game. And HW2 implies that Golden Freddy Kid dies last. So is Cassidy the Happiest Day Receiver and NOT Golden Freddy? Is Cassidy Bonnie!Kid like in Silver Eyes? Is this Silver Eyes canon??? Cori's also convinced that "girl with curly hair" was supposed to refer to Susie, but seeing as Cassidy means "curly-haired" this does make this book the best evidence we have so far for girl!Cassidy!Victim EXISTING in the series. ...though, with the evidence being in FNAF Avengers: The Book, where you can "save" the Missing Children, IDK how canon we're supposed to take that.

NOW about Eleanor: IS that Eleanor??? Because it really seems to be, it makes the most sense (and more sense than implying that it's Circus Baby).... BUT. It refers to the doll as having a red nose, and doesn't mention it being, like, fucking giant. Which implies to ME that it's a Plushbaby?? Is Eleanor a Plushbaby??? Was there just a Plushbaby cameo???? IDFK dude this book was wildin.

Also found it interesting that they had Gabrielle as Chip's daughter. Not to start talking Real-World Genetics, BUT. If we go with her in-game appearance, she's... definitely not white like Chip is. She could be biracial though, and she could've been white in the graphic novel if they were going with that design. I personally think it would've been cooler if Mike was her dad, give him something more to do than be "the friend who plays skeeball," but maybe her game!design wasn't finalized by then and they did assume her graphic novel design was her canon appearance.

Anyway. What a fucking book amirite

If "this is an agony hallucination" then any story could. IT's the "what if this is a simulation". No matter how much evidence there is for time travel or anything, there's no way to prove it's NOT a hallucination.

I still really like the theory that Oswald's one of the spirits in the ball pit, his memory of ITP is looping over and over, and the 3 Star game ending is like his happiest day. I think it makes the most sense, even though no part of this book makes sense lmao

Proceeds to get evidence for Arcade Theory, Time Travel vs. Agony, Happiest Day Connections, Stichline, and 5 vs. 6 kids.

Return to The Pit:

Pros:
+ Confirmed my thoughts of spirits, minds, memories, emotions and dreams all being interlinked with high amounts being able to form alternate dimensions.
+ Yellow Rabbit treated like a strange, half-slasher half-supernatural force of nature
+ I feel bunny

Cons:
- Made me hate the entire FNaF community even more
- Furthered laziness via "lul agony yeah"
- More conflicting signals of objectivity
- Made it kinda slightly about time travel, except not really, except the writers didn't know how to handle it and went every fucking direction.
- Eleanor, genuinely just fuck Eleanor
- The entire minigame section...i don't even wanna know the thought process behind selective history-altering minigames

EDIT: Sigh, Oswald is still in the pit. He didn't change history as, just like in FNaF 3, novel trilogy and the movie, he changed the memory. When he "left" during the minigame ending, he simply entered the pit's recreation of a new modern day, which is why he went from a 1985 arcade to a modern reality without using the pit. The pit seems to act a gateway with Yellow Rabbit as the guardian...

Personally, i think its canon and the time travel is real. Its fuckin crazy but the things oswald does don't actually change the timeline very much, and the rabbit still isn't afton. And my personal theory is that, mci happened, springbonnie suit was left in pit, suit was agony possessed, and then terrorized the restuarant. Thus closing down the original freddy's and fazbear entertainment pushes it under the rug like everything else they do. Oswald does his stuff, saves his dad, and leaves. The timeline still works thus the rest of the story. And the agony hallucinations can still happen because agony still works mostly the same, thus the chica thing happens. This is very unlikely but, its still possible, and it would be so fucking peak if it was real.

In my opinion, the five kids simultaneously disprove Frights Games and confirm the books are in the games' continuity. More damning than that, it unambiguously tells us Cassidy is an Andrew parallel in the games, and therefore the vengeful spirit. Tbh, I found the book really satisfying in terms of lore. These are the biggest questions the community had, answered. It also implies that Elizabeth's death happens earlier in the timeline than MCI, since the doll is clearly implied to be possessed, doing the bunny's (its father's) bidding. If we're following your agony/memory theory, hers are somehow mixed in as well, helping the bunny. Also, you compared it to Eleanor, but to me, it was more reminiscent of Ella

I’m kinda sad the pigtails girl turned out to be Eleanor. Because that wasn’t who I was thinking of and I kept passing out for the rest until now.

Anyway, with the mentions of Chica specifically and pigtails, I immediately thought of the little girl with orange pigtails in FNAF 4. She has a Chica Doll missing its beak and the Chica mention made me think of her instead of Eleanor.

Random thought but... What if each of the retellings are ways of tying into some of the oddest untold bits of lore getting an elaboration. Like this book is trying to explain how the Happiest day event in FNAF3 happened?

Also that this incarnation of Oswald might be Michael? Reference the bunny ears scene being a weird thought that some kids might have that if they didn't have siblings his "Bunny/Afton" Family would have been happy or if he gave in and just accepted his darker thoughts and sides to himself and falling to them instead of fighting them and his father?

Random thoughts when sick from covid. XD
