Wished SFC /SCANNOW worked on my laptop. Could have expand the hard drive longevity (even if the In-Built Driver Diagnostic says we should replace it)

Thanks a lot for this. I prefer using these safe methods instead of using a 3rd party program which can actually cause more harm than good.

I use the DISM command once a week.

Windows > cmd > run as admin
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Very thorough but all is the reason why I switched to Apple. My opinion, Mac OS is allot more efficient. I want to go back to Windows but Mac OS never gives me a problem and always runs fast.

I have watched a few of these tonight and was shocked to see my storage at 41.4 GB used 16.8 GB free. I have done all of it, the disc cleanup several times, the flush, the optimize drives and I have hardly any apps, got rid of a few of those as well like the amazon one, never consented to that. I dont even use Outlook, web-based mail instead. What is causing this huge storage used and how do I clear it please, driving myself nuts tonight trying to figure this out. I clear the clear every other day, no downloaded videos, what IS it? Thanks so much!!

I went from win 8 to win 10. My data limit is 50 gig. win 10 does constant updates, and yes I know all about the settings, many of the updates are crazy. Some are 27 gig, 15 gig etc and this is for uploading all your data to them, to downloading data from them. Then I realized they are letting me pay for all this. Try to stop the updates. LOL LOL LOL LOL ...ya right!

Hi I hope you might help, since a while now, my desktop does not appear when starting windows. I have to use command prompt and type explorer.exe all the time that I switch on my pc. Can you help me to get my desktop to appear automatically upon start up please? Thank you

Very helpful! I've only been using Windows 10 since September, and I'm still trying to figure it out.

I don't think that any of the system clean up tools apply on systems with SSD / nvme drives.

I boot to Win 10 once a month to get updates, then restart back to Debian.

If you knew what you were talking about you'd never advise users to use windows update. It causes more problems than it solves.
