If you are the person described on the first bit, quit your job and start your own business. You have all it takes.
ОтветитьMy last promotion was 21 years ago and with my IT background and private sector experience, I handle most work that others don't want to do. I will pitch at the senior management level and get it done but was always told the same thing. So I agree with u
ОтветитьI've stopped trying. Add interviews to the mix where I don't seem to felate and pleasure the ego of the hiring manager good enough to be considered a human being who deserves to have a roof over my head, AND the fact that I got here without an interview, I'm trapped and have stopped looking, as well. I'm now thoroughly stuck in a situation where instead of felating and jerking off hiring managers egos to get hired, I instead have to felate and jerk off my boss just to stay employed and exploited as long as possible. Workers being irreplaceable? Pfft. I'm perfectly replaceable. My job is the irreplaceable burden on my life.
ОтветитьI am retired now, but there is so much truth in what you are staying. Hope many, honest, hard workers, see this and benefit from it. We need them now, more than ever. Great job!
ОтветитьI was recently approached by my manager to take on more responsibilities with the future promise of a leadership role (not now since there is no headcount or budget but if you do well etc etc). On top of that the manager is already grooming someone for that same role so they suggested me and the other person take turns at this lead role. They then proceeded to try to convince me not to take the additional responsibilities because I am technical and would do better as an IC. Very odd. I ended up refusing to play manager for free, since I've done it before and it never lead to a real promotion. I suggested that the manager creates a technical manager role for me and I'd take it. So that's where we left off, I basically had to call the bluff.
ОтветитьNo real Toqüz Oghüz Türk allow disrespect ! I cut toxic lines !
ОтветитьHer her or her Boss hate how intelligent how good I look ! And that's Allah's will ! Inshallah !

ОтветитьThey are the boss stealers , do you believe you said this boss will be deaths ,not only this boss you said ,all the group steslers and government if don't keep them to shooting deaths, all you talked must be pay off total amount due and deaths. ...
ОтветитьStop working. Read Peters Principle.
ОтветитьIn a mediocre or poorly performing workplace competence is often perceived as a threat, and you might have to put energy in fending all kinds of aggressions and traps. In particular when it outshines the norm. Never forget your value and keep learning. Don't debase yourself. Much of your wellbeing, growth, happiness and success revolves around you surrounding yourself with the right people. If you chose to stay in a dysfuntional environment for some reason, cultivating a stoic mentality without sacrificing your soul can be helpful. Or you disengaging and invest your freetime to a greater reward. Withdraw a bit and create a reminding vacuum.
Ответить😂 U got to listen to women lol.. they make Points clear....
ОтветитьI am the only employee at my workplace crosstrained at every position....
Even the supervisors don't have as much job skulls as myself
If I was to quit they would have to hire 5 people to replace me
They even tried to get automation involved in my job but I still. Outperform machines
I'm such a highly skilled worker.
They won't promote me...
And am 1 of the best at my job in the province of Ontario....
Why are there no laws in place that prevent companies from doing this?
My boss didnt promote me because she was too busy spending money on Starbucks everyday.
ОтветитьThe only reward for hard work is more work.
ОтветитьThis video is spot on and so important. Please don't assume that your manager has your best interest in your career. I've been in the workforce for 25 years and am just now learning this lesson. The reason is that I've always strived to help people and mistakenly assumed that others were the same. While many are helpful, many others are not. The workforce is wrought with insecure saboteurs who will not only not help you but go out of their way to sabotage you.
ОтветитьTrue, had people around me getting promoted and never received one and they all dumped their work on me. I just stopped doing it.
ОтветитьPlaying the game doesnt change the game. Its just showing the world your as corrupt as they are. Your a sellout then. Changeing the game is changing the polotics

ОтветитьI came across a podcast recently “you don’t deserve a promotion.” The argument is that promotion is decided not earned. Behind every promotion, there is a succession plan from the organization standpoint. The decision if one get promoted or not may depend on factors totally beyond the control of the employee being decided.
ОтветитьCheck out the Col Ned Stark articles. Goes straight at promotion and retention.
ОтветитьTHANK YOU FOR THIS JENNIFEEEEEEER♥
ОтветитьDoes not work if there is nepotism
ОтветитьSlacker Chad is a man who got into management without merit because he is related or good friends with upper management. Managers are told what's the most important things to do, and they can delegate/pass off work to other people. I wish Jennifer explained that. Chad is not an entry level employee who has the very difficult mission of getting his boss to trust him with the important tasks. Only trusted employees & middle managers are kept in the loop, know what the boss wants done the most and values. The rest of us are just peasants doing the dirty work. It can be possible to rise to management, but you will have a lot harder time than someone who got the management job because they're good friends with VIPs. It may take you years and the unfair treatment will disgust you. If that doesn't bother you, just do your time and work only for a paycheck. The old saying: "It's not what you know, it's who you know!"
ОтветитьIf they feel threatened by you, they know they will never get promoted themselves and work the same job for decades. Playing the "game" is stupid. Don't coat your nose with your boss' fecal matter. It's why corporate America sucks. Too many brown nosers. Learn a high-demand technical skill and join unions whenever possible. Never sign arbitration agreements. Make the company suffer if they treat you like garbage and let them know it! Or take out some loans and start your own business.
ОтветитьYou being too good to promote is total BS. They are taking advantage of you. You're overworked and underpaid. NEVER pick up someone else's slack. If you're doing anything outside your job description, and constantly picking up someone else's slack, ask for a pay raise and don't be shy about it.
ОтветитьEmployers will not care about employees. When employees resign, the wealth generated still remains in the company, for the owners to enjoy. So it is not really essential to take care of us employees because these bosses care about income. They just think we are replaceable.
ОтветитьI’m about to leave my company because of this.
ОтветитьChad can play the game better because he reminds the boss oh their younger self, or their son, etc. How about we change the game and go to spaces where we have supportive mentors and sponsors?
ОтветитьI haven’t been in this position but I think I would be okay if 1) I get MEANINGFUL RAISES & 2) my title changes along the way.
I don’t dream of becoming a manager. It’s the WORST at my job. I’d rather stay in my position and excel at it
Learning about this video, helps me to learn more about my unprofessional supervisor who decides to keep only one maintenance employee rather than 2 - 3 for a long time proves he was not ready to be a facilities director while he has no backbone for not showing fear and act like a dictator.
ОтветитьI had the same feeling for what my boss is doing to me every single day. I've been working at my job for 8 years and he's still keeping me in the same position. My boss has no skills of leadership while abusing his position as a facilities director by making decisions for me by telling me my job as a maintenance man is my career and my future which is not my choice to have a future. My actual career and future lies else where.
Ответить4 missed promotions and counting... I'm looking at competitors at this point. Not gonna waste my time any further.
ОтветитьBut how do you switch gears without looking like a slacker suddenly???
ОтветитьTop performers get run off
ОтветитьWhat about bosses who always call out the mistakes of other co workers to you, “oh they weren’t supposed to do that.” Yet if you do it it’s the biggest shit ever. Is it just me? Or is that a thing?
ОтветитьThis applies outside of office jobs also. Especially the part you stated about being replaced by more than one person. Although when I changed positions at my current employer they did replace me with only one person. What they did instead was have me take some of the responsibilities with me to my new position along with moving other responsibilities to other people. So this reduced my replacement down to only the core responsibility of which I still have to go back and help frequently. Still they have trouble keeping people in that position and from time to time hint around to forcing me back into that old position. I have been told multiple times I was the best person they ever had in that position by even the highest level person at my location. So when I have applied for other positions that would take me out of the spectrum that would allow me to help or do my old job it does not and likely will not happen. This certainly is not a situation that should encourage the dedication and loyalty I have given.
Also the comment about working the most does not help is correct. Nine years of 70 to 90 hours a week with 7 of those years perfect attendance never got me anywhere at my previous employer even with maxed out performance reviews.
Being a top performer worked against me. I’m at a place that the commissions the highest in my industry. I’m just collecting as much as I can knowing my time is limited. It’s a very toxic environment and managment is clueless. The lazy chads are get getting promoted. I’ve been passed for promotions several times and given bad reviews by my boss when I complained to him after being the top performer on his entire team. He was clearly intimated by me and tried everything to undermine me. I consistently preformed well month after month and he said “there is no value of a top performer unless I’m able to share to help others on the team” after that I’ve cut back a bit and have been questioned about it. They will fire me once I stop producing like before. I will be looking for another opportunity if I find something that pays close to or more then what I’m making.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. As someone who has been doing the work of two full time employees for many years, and constantly gets the difficult problems dumped on me, it will come as a massive surprise to my supervisors when I resign in a few weeks. They are not expecting it and my wife has told me time and time again to resign due to dealing with extreme stress, politics, backstabbers, and passive aggressive behavior from coworkers. She mentioned that my supervisors take me for granted while they give the lazy employees more money and bigger titles each year. I saw it and did not pay attention but now I am doing something about it. No one is indispensable but it will take the group 16-18 months to figure out most of what I knew and was doing. I predict that multiple employees will be given raises to stay immediately after I leave.
ОтветитьIf you're so good at your position in a way that nobody can ever be able to fulfil the gap , you won't be promoted .
ОтветитьI constantly have to train the new people at my job. I don't see why they don't just make that my job.
ОтветитьThis is when you seek a new job 😊
ОтветитьMy managers never gave me a promotion for 16 years
Ответить🤦♀️ Good grief! I am totally the first one. I have left jobs and been replaced by two. I am the one counted upon to be detailed, accurate, solve problems, take on the tough challenges, be available to everyone to help solve their problems. Has it gotten me anywhere?? Well, you already know the answer is no.
ОтветитьThe only people who get promoted are the ones that the boss has a soft heart for and also fantasize sleeping with.
Ответить
