Do polyps have to be removed

Anybody else clenching every body part as you watch this? Colposcopies, and IUD insertions and replacements got me TRAUMATIZED! But I had to see that uterus!

I worked at a teaching hospital. I oftem snuck into overhead observation and watch w med students. Saw this procedure. Not getting one -PERIOD

Was that scar tissue at the top? I had one of these done for what was thought to be polyps, ended up being scar tissue instead. My fundus still looks like the one here. Looks like scar tissue?

Why did I answer “that’s a polyp” despite having no idea what that is 😂

I had this for post menopausal bleeding. The pain was excruciating! I will refuse to do this without anesthesia ever again. Glad you made you patient comfortable and asleep. I’m still traumatized. WTF

Asleep!!! I was wide awake during my hysteroscopies and my hysterosalpingiogram. Fricking local injected into my cervix. I had no idea you could be knocked out for this!! ❤

I had to be awake for mine. I was a nervous wreck.

I’m having this procedure done next week. I wouldn’t have agreed to doing it in his office minus anesthesia. AYKM!? The instruments alone would make any woman wanna jump from the table. Ask for general anesthesia. Demand it. We have to be our own advocates for our own medical care. Don’t expect doctors to do right by you. The first Hippocratic oath says do no harm. However, doctors doing nothing often does tremendous harm. I had to fight with my urologist over post surgical pain meds last year. Kept citing the current opioid crisis as his reason to not prescribe it. AYKM!? Junkies have made it next to impossible for pain to be managed after procedures. I had to get in touch with the hospital administrator bc he is a contract surgeon like many others. Fixed that problem immediately. But ya gotta take care of bodily pain. Doctors try to downplay the recovery times and pain levels of procedures. By doing so, they invalidate the real pain of the patient. It’s made me have to get pain relief in other ways. Weedy ways.

I wish I would have been asleep for mine. I just had numbing to my cervix but otherwise felt the whole procedure and it was extremely painful! Even light sedation would have made it so much better.

I think if you do this in your OBGYN office they will not put you asleep as in order to be put asleep there needs to be an anasteeologist present. I did mine with my OBGYN but in a hospital, she does hospital surgerys as well so this is why I was put to sleep. Definitely suggest trying that route if you can.

Asleep?! Yeah that wasn’t offered to me 20 years ago when my gyn (male) got pissed because I couldn’t tolerate the procedure 🖕🖕🖕🖕

Those hurt!! Ive had two done, i was told yo take advil.

Had this done at my old OBGYN office. Nobody told me I could at least take some ibuprofen before the procedure. I felt like I was being tortured. No heads up no warning. I had so much cramping I couldn’t stay still. All for nothing none of the images or video was useful.

Beg your provider to give you sedative. We’re not animals. And even animals are treated better.

I just had a hysteroscopy today and had a few polyps removed. I had been experiencing post menopausal spotting (3 times over 3 years or so). I have no pain, and minimal bleeding. I am happy with my procedure, now to wait 2 weeks for my post op visit and results. Praying everything is ok from biopsy.

Has this done today, wasn’t put to sleep, I don’t think it’s necessary but every one is different. Everything went smooth, I have to admit it got a lil intense because of the cramping. My Dr was great. In bed still dealing with cramping and my lower stomach is really sore. Hopefully this feeling goes away by morning. So glad it’s over!

hello doctor is this procedure safe for an unmarried lady..

Im extremely nervous as i have to have this done in a week..he told me i wont be sleeping.. Please tell me how painful this is.. please dont sugar coat it.. i want to be prepared... The fact he gave me two tablets to cause my cervix to soften is causing me to worry about contractions... I just turned 50 and having some issues with right side abdominal pain and bleeding after menopause.

I closed my legs tight when you mentioned that device goes through my cervix 😅 . My cervix is tiny because i dont have any kids

Do you need to put to sleep for this procedure? I’m getting one done this week and only asked me to take 800mg Motrin 1hr prior and antibiotics too.

I had one done twice. The last one I had found I had hypersplasia and my uterus lining were polypid should I be worried
