How to Fix Mouse and Keyboard Not Working in Windows 10

I had to completely re install windows on my bootcamp. I uninstalled an xbox controller setting before my windows 10 side of the computer went haywire. Was the error caused by uninstalling xbox controller settings?

Plugging the mouse and keyboard into a USB hub allowed them to work again. Very weird that they can work through a usb hub, but not directly in the ports.

Safe mode doesn’t work either for me. Best bet will be to get an old Ps/2 port mouse and try to get through device manager using that so you can reload the drivers, aside from that, only alternative will be a good ole fashioned factory reset, or of course just bricking the PC and calling it a day

I had this happen twice. first time was a 4 hour fix, but safe mode worked and I just uninstalled all kb/mouse drivers. when it happened to me this time, my first thought was “okay I’ll just jump into safe mode again”.. spoiler alert, didn’t work. no usb inputs working even in safe mode, though they’re working in both recovery and bios. suppose i’ll be spending the day punching holes in the wall and sobbing in a corner then, best of luck to you all

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! The system restore method worked, what happened was that I accidentally deleted a registry, so when I booted up both the mouse and keyboard were not working! AND fortunately my pc does weekly system restore that's why I was able to recover it.

It wrong or right my keyboard and mouse also not worked but only power button was working,press power button let it shut down and disconnect both mouse and keyboard and boot the window after going to login page only connect keyboard read clearly only keyboard after 4 or 5 seconds press space bar if it gone to password page plug the mouse this is what Microsoft says😊

A fooking stoopid tutorial made by a person with the same description.

The mouse and keyboard will not work on password login but it works before that in diagnostic setup when you power up and a black screen shows up...you can press enter to go to login screen or f8 for menu...press f8 and go to advance setting and chose either safe mode or restore data. (Windows 10)

So to fix your keyboard and mouse not working you have to TYPE control panel then CLICK ease of access What?
