Dr. Ekberg,
You are absolutely CORRECT!
I took iodine drops for about 3 months; then, suddenly, my hair started falling out in clumps. It never stopped. Massive hair loss continues. And, I took it WITH selenium.

Iodine is toxic to the thyroid?? I'm not buying it. It's well known that iodine deficiency is the cause of many thyroid disorders. Note, he calls Iodine a COMPOUND. It is not - it's an element. Did he skip chemistry? This makes me question a lot of what he says.

Thank you so much for the information.
I just was told that the left side of my thyroid is missing. My endocrinologist thought I had had it removed. I said no. He said I must have been born without it. He said the right side is enlarged and possibly a goiter. He wanted to send me to a surgeon to see if I needed it removed but I refused. I want to know more about why it's enlarged and try to help it heal.

I went to see a doctor recently for a UTI. It had been 22 years since I actually saw a doctor the last time, so they drew blood to find out what else is going on. The good news: my six years of keto, worked! I have zero insulin resistance. But my thyroid is an issue; I am hypothyroid. It's also something that's been in my family since at least the time of my dad's mom, who had a goiter, I understand.

I have a non toxic goiter, they did my bloodwork and everyhting was normal, I'm 24, very healthy and go to the gym often, I consider myself a very fit individual, the docotr thought so too. Yet why do I have this goiter, it's 5cm on my right thyroid gland. I can feel it like a lump in my throat and it makes my voice weak. I used to drink whey protein shakes and I have a feeling that caused this, or minoxidil which I also took for awhile. I know everything that happens to your body has a cause, I just really want to know what caused it so I can fix it. Someone at my age who is fit and healthy should'nt have illnesses like this. I no longer eat wheat or dairy or soy, I eat mostly meat with veg and some carbs, I tried keto for a month or so but I was losing too much weight so I stopped last week, plus I did not notice any changes. I am desperate to figure out how to get rid of this goiter.

According to my endocrinologist, you want your T4 and TSH to be close. Not one say 2.9 and the other 1.5. You’d want them to be close say like one 1.7 and the other 1.5. This isn’t exact just an example

How do you get back to your baseline? When you have been on levothyroxin for 15 years? When I ask the doctor, I get no answer. I take 62mcg once a day, and it is checked yearly. I do not have autoimmune disease.

I started taking 12.5 mg of iodine/iodide with a little K+ and Mg, and 1 gram of L-Tyrosine at bedtime. I already take a good MVM supplement with additional B and C. All hypothyroid symptoms were gone in about 2-3 weeks.

While other doctors tell you that iodine is crucial for thyroid health. The truth isn't an opinion and should be unanimous. This adds nothing but confusion.

I am so grateful of you Dr. Ekberg. I am Neha 34 yrs young now and i was detected with Hypothyroid when i was 6 yrs young and since the i am having Thyroxine tab 100 mcg daily. Being a kid i had no idea of this health issue until i entered in to fitness industry and one fine day i did my routine check up in oct 2017 and came to know that my TSH value was 100. I was shocked, scared, went in to depression for few months but later i really worked on my health and still figuring it out how to balance it...this video was an eye opening and so much in-depth exactly what i was expecting from my endocrinologist but every time i went for my appointment i was disappointed as they never made me understood the way you did and treated only on the surface level 😔 Thanks a ton and let me know how can i connect with you or your team.

One buys table salt with Iodine at "your' local supermarket, but then it could also contain nano- and micro plastic particles ! So I went to a whole food store and I bought 'Gros Sel de Guérande'> Natural Coarse Grey Sea Salt. - Hand Harvested. From France. But on the package there's not a word about Iodine !
So now you have propper salt but no iodine.
