I would like to watch real elite runners to share their running techniques.
ОтветитьEveryone knows WHY without being told . . . But not many CAN.
ОтветитьThis form of running should also promote better blood circulation during running.
ОтветитьGreat video! Thank you James
ОтветитьI used to get dirty up to the hair on my back at all cross country runs. I had also a longer stride than my college, which was nearly as fast as I (1,70m vs. he > 1,90m). The key is to have a long stride at the back. The angle between leg and surface has to be smaller when you push off. Because of this you have to pull your leg more quickly and explosive to the front (the foot has to travel a longer way). Than you do this, your heel will swing automatically more to your butt. But this only works if you go faster. Longer strides without going faster is inefficient.
ОтветитьIl y a aussi des exceptions comme Guye Adola qui a remporté le Marathon de Berlin. Il court à 20 km/h mais on dirait qu'il fait son jogging tellement sa foulée est courte.
ОтветитьSimple , they kick high because they run very very fast.
ОтветитьSummary: Running technique changes with speed. Kipchoge is 5'6" and runs a marathon at about 13 MPH. If you are close to 5'6" then your 13 MPH pace should look about the same as his. But if you are 5'10" and running at 6 MPH, your technique should not and will not look the same. Your stride will look like more of a shuffle compared to Kipchoge.
ОтветитьFor this form of running, you have to run faster than average "staying health" runner. This pace is for pros, someone who is not a pro, can hold this pace for 1-3 minuts, at best. So, great tips, but not really applyable for ordinary runners... You should make a video with correct form, for average pace of a staying fit runner...
ОтветитьI found this video googling kick and run that is a soccer tactic. I am really glad to have seen this video. I always asked to myself why the runners had such broad strides. while my coach told me always to focus on tempo, and doing instead small steps for 5 per km.Thank you very much
ОтветитьI'm an old guy plodder with short legs and calves which are too large. But recently I found a bit of hope when I learned to engage my glutes. Now with a slight lean forward, and allowing my glutes to initially absorb the landing shock, I've been renewed. I think the back kick is naturally a result of running this way. (And I gave up on trying to kick myself in the butt.)
Ответитьelite runner did it because their bodies tends to leaning forward from the ankle (not the hip), this really changes the overall angle of their running form that makes them kicking their feet so high in our perspective
ОтветитьWatching your videos for my preparation on my first half-marathon. Your videos are amazing!
Ответитьcause of the pace and because they run on flat ground, like a paved street
run in the woods with a backpack .. you wont kick your foot so high...
Fantastic
ОтветитьBecause they go fast that’s why
ОтветитьIf I lift my legs high and longer stride, my speed increase and I get tired. While with shorter stride I run longer easily. What’s going on ?
Ответитьisn't it just a matter of speed?
Ответить코어,.. 복근,엉덩이,허벅지 대퇴사두,이두근 중요
ОтветитьGuys, is it safe to jog with bow legs??
ОтветитьFrom my experience, I know that you have to strengthen your leg muscles before successfully applying the high leg kick. If you regularly do various types of squats and lunges (easy to find on YT), you'll be able to lengthen your stride, which will help you greatly improve your running pace.
Ответитьthey kick their feet so high up because they run fast, duh... If you run at 5.5-6 minutes/km then obviously you wouldnt have to do that.
ОтветитьI think this helps because your quads fatigue a lot on longer runs and even faster ones but hamstrings don’t really fatigue the same way so it stretches the muscle more allowing it to feel better throughout the run
ОтветитьIn fact not raising the knees cost a lot more energy
ОтветитьWhen I first tried this I found I ran slower with more effort. Eventually I realized that counterintuitively this form actually leads to a higher cadence for the same effort level. But because I was not used to running this way I was landing with my feet even more in front and even "earlier" compared to before. The very problem that you are supposed to avoid! I was doing more work going back but then braking on each stride.
To fix it I focused on slowing down my cadence very slightly while trying to land further back. The "swing tip" I can give is that I basically try to pretend I am riding a bicycle. You will feel like your legs are moving in a circle (they are) and it is obviously way more efficient; you will realize it is better almost immediately if you are doing it right. Note that because it is a different motion you may not speed up that much until you train it but for me it was so much faster that what I was doing that I improved right away.
I have to disagree that the recoil comes from the tendons, maybe to some degree, but majority of it is just Newton's law of Gravity - Every action has an opposite and equal reaction. So when we jump longer and hit the ground at high speed running, there is a considerable amount of recoil from the ground which helps in taking off the ground itself. The tendons/ligaments maybe adding onto the recoil effect, but its certainly not all about it
ОтветитьGreat
ОтветитьBloke they don't bucko
ОтветитьThanks a lot, great video
ОтветитьHi, could you maybe try to simplify when you are explaining?
It is hard for me to understand, maybe sometime you can speak slower and stop between the sentence.
Sometimes i dont know what is the main point when you speaking.....
Sorry for my bad English
So Mo is running with his tendons and ligaments and us mere mortals are running with our muscles
ОтветитьBecause they run fucking fast and very close to their max speed!
ОтветитьRaising legs further up reduces the strain and pain I feel in my hamstrings than running with with my regular posture.. is is something normal
ОтветитьThanks a lot!
ОтветитьCome on…speak English
ОтветитьBecause they are really strong.
Ответитьi lost interest once i saw your shoes ... adidas though? smh next
ОтветитьJust found your channel! Really solid advice and well-communicated. As a lover of yoga, I'm curious how to maintain that hip flexor bounce/recoil while also improving flexibility. Does high ROM necessarily reduce your running efficiency?
ОтветитьLong distance runners deserve all the respect because coach was out of breath just by Explaining how the elites do it
ОтветитьI think some people are misinterpreting what he's saying as he's not encouraging you to have such a high heel kickback if you're going out of slower pace. But, If you are over striding and heel striking then you may want to try more heel kickback.
Ответитьstop overcomplicating things. its cuz theyre pushing off hard, thats all there is to it. its not a concious thing u do. run faster and harder and it will come naturally
ОтветитьThis all true. For talented, young men. I don't qualify for at least 2 of these parameters. As at least 80 percent of world population.
ОтветитьRunning Quote - If you breathe better you can run better.
ОтветитьWhy on earth do people complicate this 🤯, just LEAN FORWARD MORE , the more lean the bigger your stride and the faster you will go, everything else is intuitive for goodness sake but then again I've seen many that run like a duck waddling 😂
ОтветитьIt's all completely trivial. If you do barefoot/ minimal everything will make sense. Check out the Alexander Technique site.
I have known a few people who had a 'Pose Running' clinic and now they look like dressage horses spending energy lifting their knees and heels even at slow jogging pace. This will do nothing but make you even slower. Also I have seen people with 'theoretically' terrible form run at impressive speed.
Man make it short .
ОтветитьDude should get a treadmill and slow motion to demonstrate what he’s saying
ОтветитьWhat a great video. I gonna break this down in a video! 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
ОтветитьRubbish
