Part of the power of this lecture is that it's mediated using a children's story. The mark of a great story, is how much wisdom it contains. Peterson's commentary along the way, is just magnificent. I can go back to this lecture a hundred times.

Love the idea of facing your dragon. In my perspective it's like learning how to dance with the devil without becoming consumed by it.
My dragon is a pregnant dragon that represents the partner of this guy I fell for but couldn't have. The dragon represents all my insecurities, him and her, disappointed hopes with him etc. Before I use to run away from this dragon and it would destroy my day. Now I "say to it", I don't care. I laugh at it and I say I'm happy for you because I'm sick of feeling like hell. The dragon suddenly feels small. Of course you got to do some shadow work before you can take the "acceptance" approach. But in my case of romantic rejection, you need to put them off the pedestal and make them small again- that's the only way to move on from someone. Thanks for reading lol.

Excellent video! But he’s actually wrong about how Solzhenitsyn was arrested. He was never captured by germans. A letter criticizing Stalin that was sent by him to a friend was intercepted by NKVD. He got 8 years for that.
