Lolz Commentators defending the toxic ones like it wasn't common in the Open Source communities... Perfectly relatable, people that want everything for free are the most loud to complain for FREE shoot and whine like you owe them something...
ОтветитьFortunately PS2 emulation is something we can live without.
Gaming is the ultimate time sink.
IM STILL ON A J3
ОтветитьIt seems like Tahlreth have anger issues
ОтветитьYou know you kiss up to Tahlreth and try and make him seem like the good guy but he didn't actually do anything for open source (just copied other people's work) and guess what, in the end he became a sell out just Like DaemonPS2, sold his app to another developer and now it's listed on the Play store with ads and malware within it. This is not an open source project, AetherSX2 was never open source to begin with, and it is incredibly dishonest to portray it as such. If he was willing to contribute to open source that would be a different story but he literally sold the app so probably the same person who made DaemonPS2 in the first place, hence why it's on Google play with ads and malware as we speak. He is a hypocrite, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he made up the death threats, not like anyone can actually prove it, especially when he took down the discord.
ОтветитьWhat this really goes to show, together with Louis Rossmann’s GrapheneOS fiasco, among others. Is the stereotypical prima donna nature of the devs behind “free” (libre, whatever) and open source development & design. Toxicity is bad sure, reprehensible even, but it’s here to stay, just like all other aspects of human nature, good and bad. The toxicity these aforementioned devs have suffered is nothing in comparison to what Microsoft, Google or Facebook have been the targets of over the years. Their ability to withstand such bad vibes being one of the unsung reasons for their continued dominance. Rather than uselessly shaming toxic folks on the net like a feminazi, y’all should be constructively lambasting the devs for failing to cope and seethe properly.
ОтветитьAlways remember "There's no such thing as a stupid question" it's the exception to the rule of learning and improving if you want to be respected by the community despite the FAQ, throwing a term like common sense rudly at someone that asks a question to the exception of learning goes to show that you're warping your own truth instead of the reality of truth...
Ответить"open source" 🤡
ОтветитьMan this just gave me a whole new appreciation for Glorious Eggroll and the Nobara OS community.
ОтветитьOpen source? Yeah right
ОтветитьI have to agree with many other commenters here. None of these examples are toxic, applying Hanlon's razor. The people who didn't RTFM asked stupid questions, and the dev defaulted to being haughty, and trolls smelled that. I'm not out to victim blame here, I think the trolls are absolute scum, but I'm just saying these examples are not what I would consider a toxic community to be.
If you can assign blame to technologically illiterate people asking stupid questions, you can also assign blame to the socially illiterate dev for repelling healthy discussion.
altstore is difficult? i mean yeah..not anyone got brainz
Ответитьkinda perfectible that cheaper hardware = bigger community so in the end of the day its a open source hobby project he can do whatever he wants but all of this was avoidable i think
ОтветитьAnd to rub it in their faces he made it terrible and full of ads.
ОтветитьHe shouldn't have let anyone to ping him. This ping thing on discord is really annoying. It's best to find some literate people to mod discord and to contact the developer only if it's something important.
And you really underestimate hardware requirements for ps2 emulation. It's not 40$ or pre 2016 phones.
It's really demanding even for non mobile chips. Not all typical pc\notebooks can handle it.
It's bad that people bugged him, but also did a very poor job at his FAQ.
From what I can in this FAQ tell developer had a very loose and technical description aimed and tech proficient people who want to experiment with different hardware. It would've been great if he, or someone from a community to made a wiki where people could put examples of phones & games they were able to emulate. Like PCSX2 & many other emulators do.
I'm pretty knowledgeable in pc tech myself (upgrdaing pc every 2-4 years), but even i struggle with
" a Snapdragon 845-equivalent device. This means 4 large cores (Cortex-A75 level)"
should I go to some smartphone cpu benchmark service like passmark to see how my phone cpu compare to this snapdragon 845 or what? Or does the devs think that everyone knows what hone cpu\gpu modell nomenclature like he is? Because everyone is like him working with 10 phones every month?
With this level of user friendliness he should've posted in on github or something.
He should've just added a list of models that it will run and suggested a benchmark tool for comparing you phone to them.
Snow flake vibes
ОтветитьIdk, he doesn't have to be a lil bitch about it.
ОтветитьDude has an absolute and undisputable freedom of doing whatever he wants with his project and discord server, but come on, being that frustrated because of couple of shitposts in like few hours? Bro needs to chill and just manage to accept the fact that people can be hella stupid sometimes. It's scary to even think about how unbearable the one's life can be if he can't accept the world's stupidity.
ОтветитьThe dev sounds like a massive snowflake. Sure, people are stupid sometimes, not everyone reads all the rules, not everyone spends a lot of time researching, some just ask questions but that's to be expected and it's something you should be able to deal with as a dev of a big community... srsly dude rage quit over nothing.
ОтветитьIt wasn't open source.
ОтветитьSometimes you wish you can punch someone in the internet. These clowns needs to get smacked hard.
ОтветитьI'm glad the project is dead because it was violating the license of PCSX2 which it was based on. That being said as the internet got easier to access the number of wall lickers making their way online has increased exponentially. Mobile users are the worst especially ones from a certain country with a call centre economy.
ОтветитьHey, are you gonna talk about the latest version and how the dev fck up everything?
ОтветитьTahlreth is now put ad on play store lolololol
ОтветитьNEETs strike again.
Ответить"free as in beer" I would like to know what bar you go to lol.
ОтветитьI can understand the frustration, but showing that it bothers you is a surefire way to have the shitposters ramp up to the extreme
ОтветитьDamn I feel bad for him he had to go through all of this and I also feel stupid to because I asked about snapdragon 630 and well he basically told the same thing like you mentioned in the video
Ответитьlol, quitting because people asked you questions on discord
ОтветитьI agree with most of what you said here, but the Note 3 was a bad example for a device that shouldn't be used to run a PS2 emulator. When it was new it was a flagship model for Samsung and by the 10x rule of thumb in emulation is more than powerful enough to this day to run a PS2 emulator, and I can confirm that certain games will run at full speed on it. The only reason why some games still don't run at full speed on such devices is because either the games were highly unoptimized or the emulator author hasn't finished accounting for everything, such as using a shader to reduce CPU load and pass that onto the GPU. Although, if the authors were more capable and could implement a proper dynarec then that too would reduce a lot of resource requirements.
ОтветитьSad bro I have a galaxy a71 and got it to run great no harassment and I read the instructions shout out to aethersx2 it was crazy to play rachet and clamk up your arsenal again and sly Cooper and jak 3 long live aethersx2
ОтветитьEntitled people in the comment section.
Ответитьkekking my ass off at Kenny going off on the poor S6 clod
ОтветитьDev needed some jannies for their discord. My server got out of hand by providing free support for options trading so we obfuscated how to find the inner most moderated channels and made the outer ones more community driven. For only the occasional hot pocket you can get your own mod squad who will take out these users without restraint. It won’t stop idiots from asking you how to commit fraud on a platform that every major government probably had backdoor access to, but it does help keep you from having to deal with that rat in and out.
ОтветитьAs a maintainer of several OSS projects (the most popular has only about 100 GitHub stars - nothing impressive therefore) I can approve that there are some users that are just consuming time for nothing. Most alarming is often when a user files a weird issue (that is probably covered by the readme) and has absolutely no actions on his GitHub profile. I already fixed edge case issues and never got feedback by the reporter
ОтветитьAll of this could've been avoided if he put some kind of counter measures against the newbies tbh ( having mods, using private discord, force the newcomer to read the faq, etc).. and the thin-skinned dev didnt help this issue as well.
Cant really blame one side because you could know all of these are easily avoidable
I think it's a problem of managing the community.
Because, think like this: All communities can turn into trash/toxic if it goes unmodded/not ruled.
If rules were enforced by mod/adms on discord servers or better, if requesting funcionalities were a premium paid feature on the server, maybe the dev would solve 2 problems in 1 throw
I do not condone the actions of the people in the community, impersonating, hating/bullying and posting death threats are not ok. But why was Taalreth interacting at all? He should've stayed far away from social media or at least get a thicker skin. His expectations were way too high.
ОтветитьDont need this dumb wedsite lol just use psx
ОтветитьHobby projects are always of horrible quality so it's inevitable that it will get a lot of criticism once it gets popular enough.
Ответить"discord channel" *discord server
Ответитьpoor dwvwloper
ОтветитьIt’s crazy how many of those Linux soylent-rich effeminates ruin the fun of niche hobbies for everybody
ОтветитьThe dev is a crybaby, and Outlaws take on it sucks. Obviously non tech savvy people are going to want to try emulation. Many of them are probably kids. OMFG if I have to explain something that's obvious to an engineer but not to normies.
Ответить🥰
ОтветитьTechnically, sideloading on (unjailbroken) iOS is possible; Apple just makes it a pain in the butt because that's what Apple does. They permit you to take an .ipa file (analogous to .apk on Android), sign it with your account credentials, and use the app for 7 days until the app expires requiring you to sign it again. The developer of Delta, a popular console emulator for iOS, even made a tool to facilitate this process and make it a little less annoying.
With that said, there's already a project for PS2 emulation on iOS (Play!) and the moron who asked that question about iOS support obviously didn't even take the time to see that it exists. It's ridiculous how many people on Discord join a server and break rules, get confronted by moderators about breaking rules, claim it's not customary to read rules before talking in a server (saying things like "Pfft, who reads those"), then get banned for being dumb in a no-dumb area
Can we talk bro I got a few questions about the dw
ОтветитьDev crying because people have lifes outside of the community. Not everyone knows everything about discord/emulators. The only one toxic is the Dev.
ОтветитьHonestly, this dev should be a little more humble next time. No need to babyrage at every "dumb" comment from your users and lose your crap like that
Ответить
