No mention of how charging to full and keeping the battery at full causes damage. Please do extra research. It’s a reason why Li-Ion EVs discourage charging to full even for a short period of time.

Replacing a iPhone battery in India cost the same as buying a budget Android phone

Gotta wonder if apps which were causing the iPhone 15 to overheat like Instagram and Uber weren't causing this before iOS 17 - just to a lesser extent.

I just gave my iPhone 14 Pro Max to my daughter, and if I recall correctly its battery health was at something like 98% - and no, I don't use Instagram or Uber.

Just by the way, for those of you who may not know: It used to be that Apple Li-ion batteries had a rating of 80% after 1000 cycles. And they are trying to tell us that they have not built in a designed redundancy? No, this is wrong, they absolutely knew that this would happen because 500 cycles is approximately one year's worth of phone usage. Is it concidence that a new iPhone is launched every year? No, coincidences like this don't exist. They are a deliberate design decision. Just think of this: Wouldn't it be nice if the battery was easily swappable? Of course it would be, but then apple wouldn't be able to make 1000 (insert currency here) every single year from you. The only somewhat repairable iPhone is the iPhone 6S!

I am a repair tech and I can confirm, the aftermarket battery he is using is the absolute best in the industry. In fact, I think they are bettter than OEM in some ways.

It is above 80% health, and it still works, in what way is the battery expired?

There's a great app called accubattery but it's Android only but it's good to see Apple let you limit to 80% charge. The biggest problem for lithium ion batteries is having a battery sitting at a high or low state of charge. I charge to 50% which accubattery suggests uses a lot fewer cycles than charging to 60%. The number seems increase faster and faster the higher your battery percentageAfter a year with my Pixel I'm down to 96% which I think is very good.

One other thing. I don't really like low power mode so I make the screen as dim as I can because that's the thing that uses most electricity.

Joanna: do you usually charge your phone at night when you go to sleep? This would keep the iphone battery stays at 100% for a long time. A lithium ion battery is most unstable at 100% charge, leading to capacity loss. Hence also Apple offers 80% charge limit option. If you enable the 80% charge limit, your battery may get a 1000 cycle life instead of 500 as you indicated in the video.
