I can explain the reason why this song is taboo. It's not like your theory of triggering agression or most of the theories I've read in the comments. The real reason why the song is connected to so many murders is because the somg "My Way" is always played at a funeral. It will always be played on the hearse from the funeral to the cemetery. With that said, singing My Way on a public place had became a superstition that means you have a death wish for yourself or someone else. Yes there are also cases of people murdering someone after singing or hearing this song. It's not always the singer who dies. And if there's someone who believe strongly on this superstition, they will grant you the honor of being the one with the death wish.

It afends people because there is too much gay related into the song that afends some people to the point where some will kill you for using a gay term or related words. that hit some people in there soul. Honestly I really hate to hear someone singing off key especially if it’s a song that has a special meaning to me or a song I really like. So when you combine that with alcohol…..well….. I can see why it happens. It’s also a song that can elicit strong emotions because of the chords.

Lots of people here have no clue what’s going on in the Philippines. As an expat living in the Philippines, I’d heard my share of loud, obnoxious, off key, off timing, sh*ty voice benching out crappy stereo system past 10pm to early morning, and the cops here take their sweet time hours later to break up the party so we can go back to sleep! Typically happened once every 2 weeks! Why you asked? The Philippines has Barangay fiesta, birthdays, crap load of national holidays, contests, etc constantly. So bad that even the provincial government has to impose quiet time from 10pm to 6am weekdays, and 12pm to 6am weekend. New proposal targeting impose a fine of 1,000 pesos (roughly $19) or up to six months in prison for violations. Before the government stepping in, there are times people got so piss off that murder is not out of normal realm!
