Monopolies are only bad if they're not actively regulated by society such that the monopoly is nothing more than a physical technicality.
After all, a company is run by people - Companies don't run themselves. I'd love to see Steam run by a fanbase electorate, where Gaben acts as some initial prime minister. Similarly, the Star Wars franchise didn't reach its peak until the fans started extending the universe (democratically so, by means of "wallet voting"). The problem with corporations is that they're essentially totalitarian regimes competing with other totalitarian regimes. That's why capitalist (or socialist) practices fail, because they always derail into quasi-fascism.

Valheim is the best game for survival, exploration, building, and fighting enemies. Enshrouded is terrible because of the overworked interface, mechanic and build things suck.👍😂👍

Hilarious, only one of these games is even playable right now. Grand Emprise released 2 months ago and hasn't had an update since. ~8 hours worth of content, no replayability. As for games lacking multiplayer, the reason is the same reason as why most of these games never get released or are in EA indefinitely, or just suck and were nothing like the promos -- just a skill and commitment issue. As great as Steam is, it truly enables really bad companies and devs to put out shit games and get away with it, only need to recover enough money to have paid for the project so they can move on to the next one.

I think i like enshrouded and also under the rock. I hope these game balance between rpg and survival. I like a simple game were I don't have to learn a lot. The gameplay should feel natural. I never played a survival game in my life because they are usually hard and complicated. They add to many survival mechanics, it becomes overwhelming.

That last games doesn't look that exciting to me. You go from taming and riding DINOSAURS to owning coal powered factories. Whoooooaaaa, super exciting progression! No wait... I'll just stay in the riding dinosaurs part of the game.

One Guy - games... you should check out the results from game jams. Sometimes it is Solo-only, sometimes up to 3 or 5 or 10... always within a very short period of time.

Typically, your group of 5 or fewer are given a game concept and given 48 or 72 hours to create a game based on that concept, to compete with the results dozens of other, similar small teams come up with.

I always enter solo, and I've won a good share of the ones I've entered. I still want to win an Epic Games megajam....

The reason games struggle with lots of players.
Because a lot of the workload of the Hosting computer, is multiplied against the number of active players.
Some aspects increase as an exponent, so 2 players doubles the work, but a 3rd doubles that, and a 4th doubles that, and so on.

If you haven't done much binary math...
This means the 8th player costs the computer 250+ times the resources that 1 did.
And a 16ht player, 65,0535 times.

See, there is always a lesson to be learned about games like Grand Emprise, that being if a game seems overly ambitious, it most likely is and it'll either come out trash, completely unfinished or never come out, at all, there's no in-between.

Nah steam is dogg shit.., they shouldnt have monopoly over 95% of all games,there should be 3 platforms with all 33%,so poepl and devolpers can choose witch they like most,my personal experience and what i heared from devs is bad with steam,they can just just booss you around and demand things cos they have monopoly,something that is forbidden by law even,cos then there is no healthy competition!,ps blizzard beeing incompetent is something most poeple alr know for about 20 years xD,they should have gone bankrupt after what they did to there 3 best sellers and fans!!!

Most of the time when looking at gameplay footage I can't tell what the game is. These games are so generic being built (mostly) on one engine and using generic assets purchased from the asset store.

So, does the ghost building mode mean that i can just add resources as i get them and not have to try and remember everything i need to build sh*t?

Thats my main complaint with valheim and other survival games ive played. I end up having to run between three building and 10 chests to build a single thing and even then i often forget a component. It drives me insane.
