I know this is an old video but I’ll try my question here. When I pour my puddles with the Liquitex pouring medium and paint mix, it doesn’t flow around like yours does when I tilt it. It kinda sticks. So I added a bit of water and now it’s too fluid. Not sure why it’s more sticky then in your video. I like the puddles too, more so then it mixing together?

I was wondering when one is using the spray varnish for acrylics, do you have to put a isolating coat on? If so is there a spray isolating coat?  I couldnt find a way to comment on a varnishing video- (sorry!) hoping I can get an answer here!Thank you so much.

Liquitex have said that if you are going to paint with normal acrylics over the top that you need to use a gloss medium to thin your paint, not water as you would normally as it will not stick to the pouring medium.

I don't like that liquitex blue ink - it's too opaque.

I would like to know if I can add matte medium or matte varnish to the pouring medium to give it a more of a matte finish

Hi Michele. thank you for your videos. it's been so useful.
i'm doing some fluidpainting, without pouring medium, only soft body acrylic+water+acrylic flow release. but... for some reason, sometimes a part of my painting cracks when it dries. can you explain me why?
I really appreciate your opinion. thanks

To make your own pouring medium . I have tried soft gel matte and water but I am getting alot of bubbles but i want it to flow over my pictures without getting lines with a brush

Hi Michele! Thanks for sharing. You are amazing. I want to try this technique. But what were you using of the colors? Are they normal acrylic paints or high flow acrylic? Thank you very much!

Great video Michelle! I've been wanting to try something like this for a while since I've been looking at Paul Jenkins' work. I'm assuming he did something similar to this with his canvases in the 60's and 70's.

Hope to do this art rendering with grand children this summer when they visit! Then if they do a extra one for me I may apply a multi media layer with photo of them in their art. Can you tell the idea excites my imagination.

Great question! The pouring medium dries crystal clear but like all acrylic mediums is milky when wet. So if you want white, you'll need to add some white in.

There is no specific paint-to-medium ratio. You decide how strong you would like the color to be. In my experience the results of color mixing aren't too different whether I use the soft body or inks. Try it! Experiement and you'll find your way with it!
