You also tied the knot in the wrong direction. You're pulling the main line in the opposite direction of how the line winds and tightens around the spool.
ОтветитьI also use tape and been doing it for 50 years. I take duct tape because it has a tiny bit of cushion or depth to prevent the line from slipping, then u can use any sensible knot that is not very big so it will not interfere with any other line wraps. Just take a few inches of duct tape and split it with scissors the approximate width of the bottom of the spool, and then wrap it around the spool core trying to get just one full wrap and that none or very little of the tape is up the side of the spool. Btw the reel I use and the best I have ever owned in 50 years of fishing. Diawa Fuego LT 3000 D-C and 4000D-C. Got 6 of them and use them exclusively in salt water and brackish water for fish up to 15 lb so far.
ОтветитьI just use a small section of grip tape on the base of the spool..
ОтветитьThanks that is easier and better for me than the arbor knot
ОтветитьI'm not crazy about this knot
ОтветитьNice fishing video. I like the detail instructions and the test to prove it works. Thanks!
ОтветитьKind of makes a big hump under the spooled line. There should be a better, flatter, knot.
ОтветитьI do this from about 25 years..uni knot is my go to all situations except to conect my braid to leader on my trout area rods where I use the Fg because of the microguides
ОтветитьExcellent bloke. I have 5 reels to spool, so glad I seen this before I started.
ОтветитьThat device is made to be used fishing from the bottom. It not made for fishing with a bobber. I have the exact same device and it work. Common sense should have told you that you can't use it with bobber.
ОтветитьYour finger doesn't let me see how the loops are done.
ОтветитьIt’s a uni knot
ОтветитьUm
ОтветитьFinally a good video on how to tie line onto a spinning reel. This should be the first video that shows up, the first 30 were all arbor knots and if your eyesight is as blurry as mine you can't see how to tie an arbor knot from a video
ОтветитьPretty big knot when you spool the line on it creates snag point.
ОтветитьCongratulations you succeeded in making this make no sense
ОтветитьDoes this work with braided lines?
Ответить👎
ОтветитьThanks. I had to slow it down to sloth 🦥 mode so I could follow because I'm just slow like that 😂.
ОтветитьDon’t say which end to loop and winding the wrong way, delete your video and do it again.
ОтветитьEveryone doing these vids, talks as though the viewers are dense, and you are doing a tv show where the watchers are all in kindergarten. Good lord, I’m not wondering about the tag end. I want to see your knot version. These videos are very specific. They are intended for grown men looking to tie something different. Good bloody crap, the childish walk-thru is almost condescending. I’ll keep looking for the right channel….or rather a fisherman doing vids. Period.
ОтветитьAwesome test!!!!🤙🏼
Ответитьawful vid
ОтветитьI really can’t do it
ОтветитьLol yearghh. It's working nicely mate. No more frustration 😊
ОтветитьExcellent
ОтветитьPulled the knot while holding the MAIN line and it works! Sorry to vent my frustration, this is VERY frustrating
ОтветитьI have no idea how to tie the knot. It WILL NOT MOVE. You are making videos for people who already know about tying knots. I am trying to feel my way through this, and this video does not tell me, IN DETAIL, how to tie a useable knot. To be fair, it is the best video I have found so far.
ОтветитьI'd like to see you toe the "super loop knot" you mentioned. I snell (or 'smell', as spellhelper suggests) my own 2/0 baitholder type hooks to fish peeler crab cut (I won't repeat what spellhelper suggests here) pieces for catching stripers in flooding tide, using a redneck rig (two hooklears). I don't do as good of a job making a professional looking LOOP on the other end of the 12" leader coming from the hook. I make a 'broken neck' looking knot like a high school dropout. It works but is shameful.
ОтветитьShit video tbh bruh and I don’t even fish
ОтветитьFrom one novice to another novice... you will always be an novice.
ОтветитьThis is good stuff. I came by a video of an aussie gentleman(could be from nz lol don't quite remember). He showed this very method and I feel it's nice and safe on the spool 👍
Ответитьjust do a uni knot and then multiple circles with the one circle you made with the uni knot
Ответитьyour not doesn't work try again
Ответитьam commenting to thank u for such kind of idea as help...
wouldn't worry bout whether its gonna break or not
i tested n it doesn't slip a bit on metal spools..
satisfied enough..thanks
I simply do a double wrap like you did, and
do a San Diego Knot to tight to Spool.
SD knot slides down easier. But no matter What knot one chooses, The Key Factor is making a double Wrap.
Thanks that was a great job
ОтветитьThat honking big knot is going to leave a honking big hump on your spooled up line when you finish. My suggestion is don`t worry so much about the knot. A granny knot will do just fine because you are never going to get to the end of your spooled up line and if you do, you have way more problems than the knot. A good snug knot, wind the line onto the reel with some tension, fill to the correct level, and you are set to go fishing. It isn`t rocket science, it is just common sense.
ОтветитьGreat idea. Definitely gonna remember this next time I have to respool one of my spinning reels. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьBasically a noose
ОтветитьThis is useless I tried twice and it doesn’t tie don’t use this knot.
ОтветитьThat knot will create an uneven surface
ОтветитьIf you look at that knott the line can lay evenly over it it will have to be pushed either side of it it might be better to tape the line or glue it
ОтветитьThanks bro, its a useful tips 😀👍🙏
ОтветитьYou just lost a fish
Ответитьyou get the same results with an arbor knot by using 2 or 3 wraps around the spool.
ОтветитьThis is physicaly impossible!why did you even post something that people cant do you idiot!
ОтветитьThis is what I do besides the double up in the beginning. I’ve been seeing the double up lately in other videos. Just ordered a new spinning reel so I’ll try this in a couple days thanks!
ОтветитьYes, but if you are using thinner mono, pull on it after & watch what happens. A uni-knot pulled the direction in the way it doesn't slip, unfortunately breaks with little effort. It doesn't matter much, cos if you ever get down to this little line, you're stuffed anyway, but it isn't strong with thinner, say under 8kg line. I am trying to find a better one than this know for tying to arbors, as spooling reels is a good 25% of my job at a tackle store. Thanks..
