Excellent job
ОтветитьGood excellent
ОтветитьThanks from Iraq
Ответить7:00 am I color blind? The wall is literally gray.
ОтветитьHi Mark , greetings from the UK … I’ve been an educator for 40 years and this is the best explanation of WB I’ve seen . Many thanks . Very clear , well paced and informative . 🙏
ОтветитьHow do you adjust the white balance when shooting infrared color or infrared black & white with a non-converted digital camera and a 720nm filter or a 950nm filter?
Ответитьdo you need to need to set custom white balance before every shoot?
ОтветитьPHENOM video. thank you. been wrestling with this topic and you did a GREAT job teaching.
Ответитьwe can therefore prove, that shadows are hotter than direct sunlight.
all jokes aside, mark, your tutorials are always wonderful and to the point.
Great video!!
ОтветитьThat camera focuses the wrong way. But the camera chooses the wizard, so I won't blame you.
Ответитьawesome and simple to understand. thanks so much!
ОтветитьI like most of the video but... candles are warm and blue is cool, you kept saying candles are cool and clouds are warmer?
ОтветитьMark please try to set WB outside, say in the backyard where everything is green. My Canon DSLR refuses to accept the picture of white paper to set the Custom White Balance and I have to resort to AWB. Inside the room I can easily set the custom white balance. Still trying to figure out ... why this technique does not work for me outside.
ОтветитьOmg Theresa was SO patient lol
ОтветитьThank you for explaining white balance in a language that I understand.
Ответить🙏👍👍👌👌
ОтветитьThis was an excellent explanation, thank you Mark.
ОтветитьOddly, the examples do not really look white, even in Lightroom. Attractive model, too bad she is wearing her little brother's sweater and cannot afford one that fits. ... Nice vedeo, but the finished looks all look dingy and gray to me - not exactly white as claimed. Still, the process looks good. JT
ОтветитьMark, I do a lot of outdoor portraits and I mix ambient light and strobe light together at golden hour and sometimes in mid-day harsh light. Would setting a custom white balance in the camera gain better results or would it be better doing it in post for outdoor photography?
ОтветитьWell done.
ОтветитьHi there. If I am doing white balance in the studio do I turn the flash lights on or off while doing the white balance ?
ОтветитьThis channel is great! Subscribed.
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьExtremely informative. I have a better understanding of how each work on each setting.
I have always kept it on Auto White as it was always best from what I've studied and viewed by others.
I have had issues with night suits with low lighting lighted with Iridescent lighting.
How to set white balance for videos if there are multiple colors of light in the frame ? Example actor in the front is lit with 5600 light source and behind the actors there are tungsten bulbs on the right and teal light from a RGB light on the left ?
ОтветитьWhite balance is very simple and you need to start explaining it in this way. Firstly, your eye automatically adjusts for light intensity. This happens by the action of your pupils opening and closing, it happens automatically. Ok, well ... your brain does the SAME EXACT THING (inside your mind) when processing color that you perceive. In other words, your brain is automatically adjusting for white balance all the time. This is part of your biology and your mind, just like your pupils opening and closing. Ok, so you can be in an environment where the light has a strong color, and when you look at a white piece of paper you will see white, i.e. you will 'experience" white, because your brain interpreted it to be white. In fact, it may be green, red, blue, whatever. But your brain is set to Auto-WhiteBalance (you cannot turn it off). So, what you THINK you are seeing does actually appear white, when in fact it is an ILLUSION. That is what your BRAIN is doing, but a camera is not a brain, it's an dumb instrument, and it can see what is really genuinely there. So when you see a picture and the colors look wacky, your eyes may have been tricked to think that the light appeared to be ok ... but the camera will see the actual light as it really is. This difference proves that your mind is making this auto-adjustment. Ok ... now that you know WHY this thing exists, you can follow this guy's advice on how to adjust the cam to set white bal properly. You're welcome. By the way, the brain does this kind of weird auto-adjust for all 5 senses. Hope that helps.
ОтветитьQ: Hi, should I do white balance first or zebra exposure.. with sony zv e10? I heard: match the studio light and white balance first and exposure?!! Thank you.
Ответитьthanks Mark and Teresa.
ОтветитьFantastic video!
ОтветитьI changed the settings on my camera from WB to PRE and my photos are so much better and natural with the colors
Ответить“A blue sky is blue, because it is warmer…” come’on… 🙈
Ответитьdoes that mean that a custom WB will always be true to reality ? the auto will not always judge correctly esp if there is no neuter color
ОтветитьBest video on the topic I have seen. Thank you so much!!
ОтветитьI enjoyed your white balance settings. I learned more. Thank you!!
ОтветитьSo odd that you would describe 1900ºk as cool when the color of lower temps is warm. I get the physics but why even go there and confuse the innocent.
ОтветитьExcellent video.
ОтветитьThis techniques does't work in Sony alpha? if does how can I do?
Ответитьwrong , if you get WB correct it doesnt mean your Colors are correct , your colors depend on your light source , for example do perfect WB on LED lights , your skin will be green , why? Because LED lights have spike in Green , and yellows , your paper will be white , but your face will be green , and its not green in real life .
Also , Camera has Auto WB , and it mostly works correctly , so Cameras do not see as human eyes , of course but Lightroom or your camera can determine WB auto , infect , i keep it in Auto , and 99% of time its correct or i have to shift if by a little but for artistic feel , not for technicality .
Except the loose introduction to Kelvin theory others were fun to listen to 😊. A little bit of lesser unnecessary explanation would be very great. Overall it was great. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьVery nice explanation
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. It was very helpful! 👍
ОтветитьVery well explained👌 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ with Love from Bharat🇮🇳🙏😊 Thank you Sir
ОтветитьThank you so much for the great vídeo, but I have a question if you don't mind... Indoors, using a Speedlight in a softbox, can I take a test shot with the ambient light do set the White Balance in(LR) and then "kill" all the ambient light, turn on the Speedlight and shoot... In Lightroom, can I use the test shot to set the WB with the colour picker and then apply it to the rest of the photos although they are taken with a flash and test shot with the ambient light?? I have no idea how to set the WB for flash photography. I know that all flashes have an ideal colour temp like 5600Kelvin for instance, but my Speedlight does not always give me accurate colour balance even set to the 5600Kelvin as it says in the manual and even when I absolutely kill all the ambient light, sometimes it comes white, some yellow in the same shoot and that's why I would like to use a Card. Thank you so much ok advance!
ОтветитьOk great just what i needed but do I buy the card or can I make one? Thank you Mark..
ОтветитьNice. Why some ppl hold Grey card?
ОтветитьOutstanding! Finally explained Accurately! Thanks much!
ОтветитьGreat video
