I was at the end of my playthrough when i played the dlc so i was overleveled. So when the end came i decided that perhaps a thorough clear out of the park was the best option so thats what i did

During my current playthrough i merked all of the raiders straight out of the gate and i still got all of the decorations.

God, I had a horrible time clearing out the Wild West Park. The worms weren't a problem, but the accumulated poison damage from the bloodbugs, bees, and those darn grasshoppers that shredded my armor (and they're almost bullet sponges), forced me to bring a sentry bot with a pure flamethrower (I don't usually use Automatron for these things; it seems so OP that it takes away the challenge) to burn everything that moved xD

I literally just played one holotape of Dixie, drugged myself and killed every single raider

Oxhorn! thank you for the video and i really hope to get a reply on this, i know the video is 7 YEARS old but I have to ask, when do i do Open Season? right after Grand Tour and assigning raiders to the theme parks? or after Power Play? i have paused the game because, like you, i want the raiders away from my settlements lol. I hope to hear back from on when EXACTLY do i do Open Season, as i'm already 70% done with Grand Tour.

I purchased this dlc after completing the main game, far harbor, and the mechanist. I just started it and watched this to get an idea what to do. Before I go any further, I have no idea what settlement I already banished Preston too cause I got tired of garbage in my quest menu for settlements I already helped. That being said, I only have Boston airport and sanctuary as my main settlements. Boston was an attempt to get away from Preston, moved dogmeat and any other people I wanted there. Unpopular opinion but all other settlements can SMD. Any play through I’ve done I’d build multiple up and they’d provide nothing meaningful to me. So I just built up sanctuary for trading and airport for ammo/home.

Will admit I am at an impass as I don’t want sanctuary to become hostile if I set other settlements that already have no food, water, defense to their doom

Oxhorn, you seem to misunderstand the word collapse, Mackenzie was saying they would scatter throughout the wastes and likely die off, much like how the NCR talks about taking out the fiends bosses, however the fiends don't actually collapse until the endgame scene. What should've happened is when you kill a factions bosses the respective raider gang should've frenzied or fled, however in the lore of the game it's more likely that Mackenzie just underestimated the grit of these raider gangs. The most common advice given for groups like raiders even in real life is if you eliminate the leader the group will fall apart, this is true for even great nations, so not a lie. Like how eliminating Caesar guarantees the fall of the legion, but not immediately, it's something that will take time.

Interesting fact, don't know about all of y'all though, but if you have Paladin Danse as a companion when you choose to complete open season, after completion, Danse actually loves it.

are do the nuka-world DLC first then Slaughter the Raiders and if you have 20 settlers at every settlement you will still have handmad rifles leftover

I have 3 perfect settlements to use for the Raiders. 3 that I absolutely can't stand building in.

Murkwater Construction Site
Coastal Cottage
County Crossing

I started as a good character I helped people and maybe joining the brotherhood isn’t a good person faction depending on how you take it I viewed myself as a parent and went with the faction that had the most power to get my son back and after finding out everything and turning agains my son my character went mad and turned into an abomination(my character used a lot of chems to deal with the death of my partner and kidnapping of my child ) I didn’t start sobering up until far harbor with Cait and now I’m turning my character around that’s how i justified Nuka world

I wish they included a quest branch that makes you convince the raiders the commonwealth is off limits.

The raiders taking over Nuka-World already makes it the largest sole settlement that we have seen in the Fallout universe.

Yes, keep the enslaving, etc., but leave the commonwealth alone. The raider gang you chose to only give one part of Nuka-World to would then break ranks and start raiding the commonwealth, resulting in the same reactions from companions as if you did start raiding the commonwealth (because it would be your fault for not keeping them under control).

That way, there would be a middle ground.

The best ending to Nuka-World is not doing anything for the raiders, and just starting open season. You get miscellaneous quests to clear the Nuka-World outposts (allowing you to keep any denizens there if you so desire), and then a miscellaneous quest to restart the power plant. It completely removes the raiders from Nuka-World, bar random encounters which reduces them to just normal bandit tribes.

However, this ending will lock out basically all rewards from the raiders, but you get to leave Nuka-World with your head held high, so that's something
