"i call it cyber security analyst" well dont because that is an entirely different job . aka bug bounty hunters
ОтветитьI love you, man! you rock. thanks for the insights. you put it in simple words and go right to the point
ОтветитьWell shit, i can specialize in the very first level of position you listed and be set. I am frugal and lean towards the minimalistic side of life and have been able to survive and make it on half of that and less. No debt besides my mortgage and no kids and I would love to work from home 🤷🏻♂️.
Ответитьman the b-roll meme stuff is so annoying but you have good info so i push on through, i guess its more for the younger crowd who currently find it amusing.
Keep up the good info dude.
This guy is an absolute GEM!!!! Thanks for your passion to help us out Bro!
ОтветитьMad hat- according to this you do need a bachelors degree
ОтветитьI can actually watch your videos to learn AND laugh :) Thanks for doing what you do!
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьVery interesting love it
ОтветитьId def say SOC analyst is an entry level job too. Also a growing field would be
Security analyst dealing specifically with PCI -DSS compliance. Do your homework on how you can go far with pci compliance.
Out of curiosity... what made you go from running a shopify store (assumption) to wanting to work in cyber? Do you do both now, or are you fully transitioned?
Ответитьhey mad am a beginner with cyber security do you have any advice for me to choose the right career path for me and btw love you're videos man
ОтветитьI'm just looking to get my foot in the cyber security door. I'm happy with an analyst position that offers growth, opportunity, and a great environment to learn in. I'm also ok if it doesn't offer growth as long as the skills are in demand I can show that to my next employer. I'm in a help desk style role now and I'm going to a 6 month boot camp in about a month. The plan is to move from help desk to CySec by April of next yr.
ОтветитьIf one has bachelors in International Relations, Financial [bank] call center job currently, and taking my security + exam next month, what’s the probability of me being prepared enough/ getting hired for an Information Security Analyst position?
Ответитьare you mormon
ОтветитьYou mentioned having a degree is of high importance, I’ve heard multiple other people consider this to be untrue. Can you explain?
ОтветитьAs an ISA in biggest cusomer SEC in my country I make only 20K at max... so I guess I need to change country of living.
ОтветитьBro do u wear mask here bcz u want ur private and public life separate ? If yes can u guide how can we keep our private life more private from the online people mostly? Like if we use linkedin etc platforms and our online people also know that then there is zero privacy left lol
ОтветитьYour content is refreshing and unique compared to most cybersecurity channels subscribed.
ОтветитьWell 10000hours to me depends on the job....i have forsure atleast around 80 000h in my job but i have so many different planes to work on i wouldnt call myself an expert on all of those planes.
ОтветитьI started in cyber with an associates and some certs. Now my employer is paying for my Bach and more certs
Ответитьoh oof. that wow /played time moment hit a little too close to home fml lmao
ОтветитьSo I can’t get a job without getting the bachelor?
ОтветитьOk lets say that you work and live in SF so 80000 -40% tax /12 =4000 - 3000 rent - 500 food - 500 gas, mobile etc= 0 or - , 😂 great work)
ОтветитьGreat Information Mad Hat🎉
ОтветитьHey Mad Hat, I'm an undergraduate and want to get into Pentesting , i have eJPT and working on some freelance pentest projects to gain experience through a startup which offer PTaaS. Do you think I'm focusing on right niche or should i learn something related to blue teaming and them pivot
Ответитьany recommendations for setting up a home soc lab on a macbook?
ОтветитьSec Dev Ops sounds like it would be a solid career choice.
ОтветитьGreat content. Hopefully I’ll be an analyst. I have CEH, SEC+, Splunk core, AWS CCP, and ISC (2) CC all last year in the span of 6 months. Currently a VTC facilitator looking to transfer as soon as I can.
ОтветитьMan you making cyber security look like fun LOL
ОтветитьSooo wait a minute. A consultant is someone a company hires based off of their expertise. If you've never been in infosec before, how can you become a Security Consultant? And to even convince the company to hire you when you'd need to learn as you go.
ОтветитьI love your editing man. I can see your progression from your earlier work. If you can, would you be willing to do more anecdotes on life in the cybersecurity field or different SIEMs, EDRs, IDS/IPS , Vulnerability scanning tools etc to familiarize ourselves with?
ОтветитьIs cyber -security one word or two!!??
ОтветитьSoo how did you learn how to analyze the logs? I've started a job in Soc on the monday and it seems like it is going to be the main part of this job.
Ответить👍
Ответитьyou really are ,,undersubscribed", your videos are great <3 <3
ОтветитьHey Mad Hat, really loving the development of your channel, keep up the good work buddy!
Ответитьwhat is easiest way to work remote? in this field of course
Ответитьstewie griffin 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьExcited to see the video about the certs!
ОтветитьDon't tell me Mad Hat was a drop-shipper! 🤣
ОтветитьNice
