CZ Shadow 2 vs Shadow 1...Is there a Difference?

Can you mount a red dot on the shadow 1 or is it just on the shadow 2 you can?

First CZ I ever shot was the SP01. That was the best shooter ever at the time. The 2 is even better.

Shadow 2 is better in every way except that it has a terrible grip frame design. The angled hump digs straight into your palm if you grip it too tightly feeling close to a bruise the harder you hold the grip.

Recoil is more on the S1? Really? Maybe that light on S2 has something to do with it.

And even though the Shadow 1 has more recoil than the Shadow 2, the Shadow 1 still has better recoil mitigation than any Glock ever built!

I've heard that CZ shadow 3 will come out soon. For sure lots of gun enthusiast are waiting to appear it's shadow.

I have only owned safety equipped CZs (with the exception of a P-10F). I have carried them all decocked. You can’t go past the safety notch if you cover the hammer, press the trigger, let the hammer start to move, and then release the trigger.

My EDC is a two-tone SP-01 Shadow.

Disagree. Shdw.2 has smoother serrations, and the top of the rack is angled. That makes it much harder to chamber a round.

Shadows are range/competition guns... not home defense or carry guns. A decocker would mess up that sweet trigger too, it adds more complexity to it...

Got my Shadow 1 back in 2014 new for around 750 USD (converted from NOK). Not a single malfunction all these years. I have tested Shadow 2 and for me on 25 meters it deliver smaller groups, but I am not sure if it is worth replacing the S1 considering the around 1600 USD 2022 price tag for Shadow 2 in my country.

Not discontinued, but limited production. CZ Customs in Arizona is the place to go for the shadow series guns. If you can find a base shadow CZ Custom can upgrade your shadow with a bullslide, target sights, short reset kit(the stock reset is on par with my P229 Elite trigger reset imo), and action job. I spent my shadow 2 money on my Walther Q4 Steel Frame. My next CZ will be some kind of Bull Shadow though

CZ Shadow 2 is better, i love it.

I really really hate firing pin blocks, so the CZ Shadow series is without a doubt my favorite, especially since they allow you to attach a light still.

The Shadow 2 shot noticeably flatter IMO

One of the key difference between them is the weight. Shadow 1 can be used in pretty much all competitions while Shadow 2, becouse it exceed the 1.22 kg it can't be used in some competitions.

I wish there was more info on the SP01 Competition model and how it stacks up to the SP01 Shadow and Shadow 2, I've heard the Competition is a close match to the S2. For $1400 after tax it better be...

I just checked In my collection and I have a CZ Shadow 1 & 2. My Shadow 1 has “CZ -75 SP-01 Shadow”. Sorry to say that I haven’t compared them at the range yet, but both shoot really good.

I have both and honestly the difference is minimal. I prefer the SP01 Shadow over the S2.

I would only use Shadows for competition. They aren’t drop safe

I've a Shadow-1 + Kadet .22LR set. I also have a plain CZ75 and another Kadet .22LR set along with it.
When the time comes I'll have a Shadow2 (no Kadet unless they give it free with it again) and guess what: I'll just keep the others :D

SP-01 Tactical is the one with the Decocker otherwise it is just a A SP-01 .

If you have a 1911 pistol and aware of it's operation...you don't have a problem dealing with the operation of sp01.
