This worked!
Having issues on my 6 x 3090 rig with 2 x 8GB RAM and 500GB SSD. Only get the 'not enough virtual memory' error after installing the 6th GPU! Any help well appreciated, thanks.

ОтветитьSo 1600 and 32000
Or 16384 and 32768?
If i have 8GB ram and 2x gpu with 8gb vram max set how much?
Ответитьafter 4 years still this video useful for some one that me
ОтветитьCan it help to boost mining on unmineable
ОтветитьI set the no paging file in my original driver before setting the custom in the driver I want to use... is that a problem?
ОтветитьSo, here’s why this video is dead fucking wrong on every claim.
First off, if you’re using so much RAM that you’re using the paging file, even the fastest SSD is slower than RAM—the solution is buy more RAM.
If you have 16GB of RAM, I wouldn’t suggest exceeding that amount—you’re better off having a 1:1 ratio when you’ve got more than 4GB. You might want to double it for 8GB of RAM, but it’s overkill and you shouldn’t need more than 1:1.
If you have an SSD as your boot drive, you should have a standard HDD installed for mass storage of files, and use THAT as your paging file, which you can relocate from that menu. The reason is that an SSD has limited reads and writes, and you will burn through those of you don’t have enough RAM and are constantly hitting the paging file with transfers back and forth.
Personally, I think that 32GB of RAM is the sweet spot for anyone on a desktop that wants to have a ton of RAM available and doesn’t want to slow things down by paging all the time, because you can simply disable the paging file if you have enough RAM. On workstations with more than 32GB of RAM, especially if it’s running an SSD for the boot drive, a default install of Windows 10 will chew up obscene amounts of your storage space with the paging file, and you’re better off not having one.
I don’t know how it why you think this is going to help with mining crypto, but I think you’re click baiting people who don’t know better, because this is a fairly basic setting that anyone with Windows 10 installed needs to adjust on a desktop.
If you have a laptop, you definitely want to use a paging file, SSD or not—because when you lose power or close the lid and put the device into sleep mode or hibernation, you’re going to want it to dump whatever is active in memory to the paging file, which shouldn’t require more than that 1:1 I mentioned.
Thank you so much
ОтветитьI’m sorry but what do you mean by “mining”
ОтветитьHi ... what if my other drive is 1 terra .. what can i set it to ?
ОтветитьHey Tom, what if all my programs and system are stored in the same drive? Should I make the changes as suggested in this video?
ОтветитьI gave mine 16 gb extra
ОтветитьGreat video ^^ helped me out in my software engineering class :)
ОтветитьHey PC SpecsOps, I read the description, but I have a question. So if you have mining rig and you have set your virtual memory to double your ram + what gpu vrams you got combined, should I put that value into initial size and maximum size? Or should the initial size be something different? Thx
Ответитьi have a combination of 10 gtx 1070 1080 and 1080ti, 4 system ram and currently virtual memory is set to 28gb (hdd is just about full - being a 60gb ssd) do i need to upgrade my hdd or is 28gb of virual memory plenty? I also have access to a 160gb sata III mechanical hdd and another 60gb ssd , both ssd are sata II btw. TY
Ответитьi have 4gb? help
ОтветитьIf i have my games on my ssd (C) drive do i still only change the virtual memory on my D drive? :D
Ответитьty!
Ответитьmy computer 4gb how i set
Ответитьi's working very well, tahnk YOU!
ОтветитьHey, there! Awesome videos you have and pretty well explained. I have a question: is it advisable to do this on more than 1 drive? For example i have 3, one for documents, other for the system and other for virtual instruments etc. Or should i just use this on one of them?
