How To Sync Audio & Video FAST in Adobe Premiere Pro CC

So Pleuraleyes is discontinued already? Looks like SYNCAILA is the new one? Does that mean the prepetual license you bought is useless now? The company can just "discontinue" and launch the same thing under a new name to make people rebuy it?

You always do a great job! But Premiere doesn't haha. This should be a simple task, fast as described in the title. But Premiere turns things complicated. I use Plural Eyes to synch my cameras and audio sources and it just takes a few seconds to set up and process (literally). It never fails.

Hi Matt Im a big fan and follower. I used Plural eyes to sync proxy files but the synced files are the original files and not the proxy files . What am I missing ?

I have a weird unique situation where the audio and video on one of my clips keeps breaking up every 2-3 mins or so for 3-10 seconds. So what my, "client" did was record 2 clips. Then I'd put both clips on different timeline and use Scene edit detection. It honestly did a good job of cutting the clips at the right time, but then I'd have to go in and manually delete all bad spots and then sync the audio and video. Some days it would only be 2 hours of footage, but other days it was like 10. Since it made like 200-500 clips, it would be really time consuming to sync everything.

I actually too a break from editing and when I started again they asked me if I wanted to work on their stuff again. I declined temporarily just so I can have more free time this summer, but once summer is done I'll probably work on their stuff again.

I get paid per project, not per hour, so my question is is there are way to speed up this process?

You mentioned you were going to show how to fix all the audio being on individual tracks "in a moment", but it appears that moment never came. Did I miss it?

Right, okay...as an audio editor this method is fine when you are working alone on home videos or weddings. But you should not use this method for narrative work where you'll need to export an omf to pass onto an audio editor. It wipes off all our metadata.
What's the point in us syncing TC to camera and naming our channels 'Boom' 'lav 1' Lav 2' ect, when we get the session back it's all gone, our original time code stamp and naming conventions - wiped off. I always wondered why the audio files that were named 'boom and 'Lav' were replaced with - 'Multicam1275567540009867'
Which means absolutely nothing to us and we can't do anything with.

The correct way (and only way) is to learn to sync by Timecode, that's why we sync our field recorders to camera. Only for editors to use sloppy methods such as this.

Also I don't trust editors to keep an eye on the audio work flow, your audio settings must match the audio files so speak to the soundie to make sure. It should be 24bit 48kHz.

If you are doing narrative work that requires a sound editor, don't screw us over with shoddy workflows or plural eyes. It's unprofessional.

Premiere is an incredible tool, but I gotta give it to Apple for making things like this in FCPX far more simple and quicker.

I bought Plural Eyes in August. And I have already run into issues multiple times. And now finally, just after 5 months of using it, I cannot use it anymore at all! This is so annoying and they Maxon wants me to pay all over again!

if you have synced all then you have one you forgot about and you need to drag an audio and video and need to sync it how can you sync only that video and audio without premiere or plural eyes trying to sync all footage again?

Thank you Matt, your videos are lifesavers. I would have synced 80 clips from one camera one at a time on one long audio clip but this seemed to work well. It's so embarassing that Premiere makes things so much harder than they have to be when it could just be a couple buttons you hit like in FCPX, and clips it cant sync it will at least keep in your timeline so you don't lose footage you might need. I just don't understand why people like Premiere with all of its ugly UI and issues and why Adobe doesn't care to simplify things
