At 19, my family visited Las Vegas 1977 as part of a summer vacation... no gambling just see the sights and lights, and the Follies at the Trop. ... I've had no desire to return that may spoil my good memories...
ОтветитьDo we know anything about this family. Just enjoying a road trip to the grand canyon.... great look into the past.
ОтветитьThe joy these neon signs bring me is indescribable
ОтветитьAmazing 😍
ОтветитьMuch like L.A. they kept virtually nothing of this cherished history. Las Vegas is a fricking desert 🌵.
There was no reason to tear down and replace. All they had to do was build from the strip 10 miles south and 10 miles north and had a huge town that wasn’t just concentrating on the five miles in the middle. Too bad but Las Vegas lost it’s feeling of freedom and the wild Wild West decades ago. Some history is worth preserving! They completely paved over the rat pack and Elvis which is probably the most exciting time in semi-modern history of Vegas, completely gone.
However newer generations really don’t care 🤷♂️
Thank god for the El Cortez, the only place left that I feel at home.
It’s only cool if few know about it .... Vegas needs it groove back .... unfortunately it’s too late
ОтветитьDamn I know the new modern architect is the mojo now but Las Vegas Could’ve at least still with old school style lighting on all current casinos
ОтветитьOh my goodness, Willie Nelson already on the big marque signs in Vegas way back then...and he is still alive folks!
ОтветитьWOW!!! this is incredible, how wonderful this was.
ОтветитьSame year Viva Las Vegas came out.
ОтветитьWhen you watch these vintage footage, it makes you cherish time
ОтветитьLooks like a video game. Amazing
ОтветитьI love this video! My family spent eight nights at the Thunderbird Hotel when I was ten years old in 1966, and Las Vegas has fascinated me ever since. I must say, however, that I prefer the old Las Vegas to the new one. I was there five years ago in 2015, and I hardly recognized the place. The population in the mid 1960s was 60,000 or so; now the metro area has two million, maybe more. Wish I could go back in time and stay there, but I know a lot of people who feel that way.
ОтветитьThis is the real Las Vegas..not the fake Disneyland for adults that the Strip has become now.
ОтветитьBEAUTIFUL!
ОтветитьThe good old days of the vegas strip amazing. 🤾🏻 🤾🏼 🤾🏽 🤾🏾 🤾🏿
ОтветитьIts so sad You can find this lodge on tripadvisor under a new name and become the worst of all time in vegas and today its a bad neighbourhood with lots of homeless people around this place.
ОтветитьThat old school LV neon is just astonishing!
ОтветитьMichael Mann's Crime Story.
