This last story was nuclear. Loved it.

Last story was epic. Only thing missing was OP getting his money for all the work he and his partner did.

I worked for a particular mid-tier computer manufacturer for 7 years, before they closed the office where I worked. They later went bankrupt. During my tenure I was the service manager for all of Eastern Canada, however, when the CFO would visit from the main office on the West Coast, ho would always treat me like his secretary. This was because of my techincal and correspondence writing skills, which he recognized very early on. He would routinely make me write his letters/memos and I would have to rewrite them up to 5 times, before he was satisfied. (NOTE: The final would always be between one and three words different from the original one I had written.) All of this practice served me very well when the entire branch was closed and we were laid off when said CFO tried to pay me less than half what the company owed me, while simultaneously breaking Provincial employment laws.

Moral of the Story - Nevr EVER eff over a Domain creator, they will put you out of business. Be smart and pay what you owe.

Bob deserved what he got. Taking his business completely down was the proper response since he was a serial scammer.

I had an incident similar to the story about work schedule. I was working as the sole IT person and software developer for a small startup. One of the co-owners didn’t like my hours, which were typically from 10a until 7-10p. He was always there 8a-5p so he didn’t see the hours I worked. Like the person who wrote that story, I was salaried.

This co-owner insisted punch a time clock, so I did, for 6 weeks, working my normal schedule…average 52.5 hours per week at the end of that 6 weeks. I went to the next meeting with the owners, showed my time cards, and explained that I would not be punching a time clock any more, and that if they attempted to force me, or docked my pay for even 1 minute, that would mean I was actually hourly, not salaried, and they would be on the hook for 12.5 hours of overtime per week, for the past 2 years. My schedule was never brought up again.

Website Story: If I was OP, I'd have simply called a Lawyer and Sued Bob for Breach of Contract and Fraud as well as Suing the Server Host to take Bob's Website down and then sent his Bill to Collections to hurt his Credit Rating as well (which will also hurt his Insurance Premiums and chances to get Loans etc.)

I guess Bob forgot what he hired OP to do. Make Bob's site number 1. Nothing there to stop OP from making OP's site number 1. Don't screw over those that know technology better than you. It will cost 10 to 100 times more in the end.
