Intel laptops are looking pretty fast this year. Do you think it's an Intel or AMD 2023?

I owned both galaxy book 3 and macbook m1 and m2... there is NO comparison.. macbook m1 and m2 throw intel off the race by miles.
M1 and M2 can play any game, perform flawless instantly everytime and battery last twice as long...
cant compare macbook m1 and m2 to intel.. it not even at the same level.. just yet at least

I just picked up the Asus g18 with the i9 13980hx and 4080. So far I am impressed with the performance.

This is a desperate attempt by Intel to show performance numbers - total crap. It's time their engineers work harder.

64 bit processor can handle 16 billion gigabytes of RAM,why hardware companies still market shitty 32gb of ram?

Should I buy a i5 12th gen laptop now or wait for 13th gen to come in markets so that I can get a 12th gen for cheaper price.?

I hope when Intel gets bored with cranking up the wattage, they find a little time to work on their Y series too. Unless they are afraid that ARM will eat their dinner in the energy-efficient-yet-plenty-powerful-enough market segment.

Ok my main problem with Intel 13th Gen is the fact that they have all these SKUs, and yet companies will only use the i9 and the i7 variants. It’s why laptops are so expensive. For example, imagine if Alienware added the i5 13600HX in their laptop lineup this year. Then people could get an i5 and a RTX 4080 and be content bc they don’t as powerful if a CPU.

This is mainly benefiting creators right? I mean if I'm gaming the precious generation is more than enough I think.

I've noticed that this trend of increasing the price of laptops has become more and more widespread. If before you could buy a laptop for 1k, then it became 1.5k, and now its almost 2k. For 2k you can make an amazing desktop PC. So tbh, i feel kinda confused. You cant buy a laptop and use it for 5 years. We gotta be realistic. I mean theoretically we can. But practically your only ssd becomes used over the time, and starts to slow down, because the number of writings are limited on ssd. If you use it regularly it will get slower. Same for your pc overall. Besides, technologies evolve. A couple of years ago we didnt have fingerprint scanners in laptops. Now a lot of laptops have them. In 5 years a lot of things will change in termps of technology. Paying 2k for a laptop, that you will probably want to change in a couple of years doesnt make much sense.
