I really want a cat in the future but right now I have a bunny that chews cords and to stop this
I put bitter apple spray on them but be aware if you pets face has rubbed or licked the spray
don't kiss them you will regret it!!!! 😂

Another common choking hazard that I have experienced - cat toys attached to a cat tree shelf by an elastic cord. If the elastic cord is long enough, there is a possibility of a choking hazard.

I have had two cats now that I was luckily present with, who batted at such a toy, which bounced in a loop, went around their neck and caught on itself. The cat had jumped up after the toy it released, and as it was coming down the toy that had looped around their neck started to choke them. My cat was literally hanging by the elastic string. After that I hung toys by shorter strings that couldn't loop around the neck! Or nonelastic strings.

So I'm planning on adopting a cat for an apartment, and my question is, I have a lot of costume jewelry would that be a possible hazard for my cat. Current it's sitting on my vanity but I am planning on proper jewelry display/storage.

Off topic, but keeping medicines in the medicine cabinet above the bathroom sink is the worst place in the house. Warm and often quite damp, with varying humidity. Ask an MD or pharmacistl.

We have plastic reusable flowers from amazon because Tom was a florist in a past life. Mia (dennis the mennace), learned how to open the pantry door , is obsessed with shopping bags, not because of meat but because of cheese 🤦xx

Any recommendations for a safety net for stairwells, in case cats jump off?

Washer and dryer is important! When I was younger I had a sweet tabby baby named binx. My sister was supposed to take the clothes out of the dryer but the buttons were hot she left the door open to cool them off. She restarted the dryer because not everything was dry and he was taking a nap on the clothes. I miss him everyday :(

I can’t help but notice the string lights in the background and wonder how do you keep your cats off them?? Were they trained to leave them alone or are they just uninterested? I’m in the midst of decorating for Halloween and wondering how to keep my lil guy from destroying everything while I’m not looking!

So for TVs and PC monitors - museum putty underneath?

For PC tower itself - bitter apple?

Im an animal lover. ALL ANIMALS. I worry about my baby (and my brothers babies). Im always concerned, but most of this is common sense to me, fortunately.

I heard a TERRIBLE story about a dryer when i was about 7... i always double check.

Curtains...blinds...light cords, cables, anything stringy. I just learned to unplug anything I didn't want the kittens to chew up and get electrocuted. Yes it was a pain for a bit, but eventually they grew out of that phase and the house was fine. I let them just explore yet I always followed them to see what they was into. Anything like q-tips and little things must be picked up. My senior cat just watched them play and then I put the kittens in a cat room for an hour and gave that time to my senior. It all worked out fine. Being a catdaddy is a full time job but awfully rewarding but always remember...patience! If you don't want them to get into things when your gone, put it away or unplug it. I also suggest to shut your windows and doors when your away. When your home with them you can train them to not get on them.

You've made me fearful of every appliance in my house. I don't close a door or turn anything on without extra checks.
