Whenever the leaders themselves are at risk, it’s reasonably safe to say that a catastrophe is unlikely. If world leaders were somehow protected, mutually assured destruction wouldn’t have been a deterrent.

Push back the Russian forces so far from the nuclear power plant that they could no longer supply their troops holed up in the nuclear plant. Of course, the Russians won't give control of the plant easily as it gives them advantage. They will mount an offensives to move their forces back to near the plant at all cost. The Ukrainians should never allow the Russian troops back near the plant again. They must defeat them; keep them at bay while starving their soldiers in the plant to defeat or death. Checked.
