Transportation on the Trabzon-Bayburt highway came to a halt due to overflowing stream waters; houses and workplaces were flooded. The heavy rainfall in the Araklı district of Trabzon negatively affected the region. As a result of the overflow of stream waters in the hazelnut factory location located in the 2nd kilometer of Araklı, the Trabzon-Bayburt highway was closed to traffic in the direction of Bayburt. Due to the rainfall, the flow of streams increased and some rivers overflowed. Boats in the Araklı port were also damaged. The floods caused the flooding of many houses and workplaces, especially the Industrial Site. Landslides have occurred in some parts of the district, and some roads have collapsed. The State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), AFAD and municipality teams continue to work in the problematic areas with construction equipment. Arsin Mayor Hamza Bilgin said, "Our teams are trying to intervene. But it is raining very heavily and it is still continuing." With announcements made from municipal loudspeakers, citizens were asked to stay away from stream banks in particular.
