If you want to know about blades, there's a great vid on them from Stumpy Nubs. He explains a lot of the info about them.
ОтветитьI'm not gonna say what that last cut looked like haha 😂 Thanks for the informative video!
ОтветитьThis is a great informative video bc my crappy Chicago Electric 14" band saw cuts like crap but maybe I can get to cur straight now.
ОтветитьMaybe the first thing is to learn how to spell “safety”
ОтветитьThose are some impressive curves at the end! I’ve been learning bandsaw techniques recently and will definitely be using this video as a reference guide going forward.
ОтветитьGreat tutorial. Your guest really provided valuable information applicable to hobbyist like myself as well as your dedicated wood workers such as yourself. I'll be watching this again.
ОтветитьI enjoy your videos. However, why do content creators over use the the word "ULTIMATE" or "GENIOUS"?
Good information as always. I have a Rockwell/Delta 14" band saw. Manufactured in the mid 1970's. Good old American cast iron. Made to last. It was in bad shape when I got it. I restored it by cleaning it up, replacing worn out or broken parts. Once together and dialed it....OH does she sing.
Perfect timing for this video, I have been having issues with drift when re-sawing, figured I just needed a new blade, which I ordered. Then watched this video, next day stripped off all the guides, cleaned thoroughly, replaced and reset up. Hadn't got my new blades yet but figured I would just have a quick try at re-sawing some oak, what do you know, no drift.
Ответить👏👏👏
ОтветитьThis one is of off topic but it’s a new video and you’re awesome and you respond so well!!
New tool to look into that I love is the drill DR. If you break a drill bit tip or break it in half you can resharpen them! And resharpen them even if it isn’t broke. Love your channel!!! FIST BUMP
is that super dave?
ОтветитьHe said the carbide blade can be resharpened two times when sent in to the manufacturer. What’s the total cost with shipping?
ОтветитьThat was really helpful. Thanks a million.
ОтветитьLove this. My uncle and mentor is no longer with us and he isn't able to accompany me on this part of my woodworking journey (getting more skilled with his bandsaw now that it is in my shop). This will go a long way towards getting me going and then some. Awesome video. Bookmarked for future reference!!
ОтветитьGreat breakdown!👊 Time to play!
ОтветитьThank you Matt for the informative video!
I really want to buy the nice Carter guides and accessories to make my bandsaw run like a dream, but they’re so dang expensive! If I fix up my bandsaw the way it needs to be for resawing, I’d be spending more on accessories than I did on the saw!
Excellent video! I just bought the 10” Rikon Benchtop saw and haven’t set it up yet! This will be useful!
ОтветитьHi Matt this is Gary Brant I have the Laguna 14 inch bandsaw like you guys was using I absolutely love it. Great job on the video. this makes me want to get the bearing guides instead of the ceramic guides.
ОтветитьThank you Outlaw!!
ОтветитьMy band saw is a bench top Harbour frate special. I hate it...
ОтветитьVery informative video. I inherited my dad's Grizzly a couple of years ago and don't know very much about it, other than it has been used very little.
Great beginners information. Thanks for the education. I'll be watching this one again a few more times.
Cool video! I don’t know much about bandsaws and this video definitely has a lot of great information. Thanks Mighty Matt.
ОтветитьGlad I watched. My guides need to be closer.
Ответитьdid he make a sperm
ОтветитьVery much enjoying this video. Mr. Shrinner was very informative and is obviously an expert in the field. The band saw is one of the last couple of power tools I don’t have yet in my shop and see that coming in my future, so this video has been extremely helpful in my knowledge and training, both product-wise and safety-wise
ОтветитьGreat video! Education! I like how you bring in other people on the channel!
ОтветитьMatt, Thank you for putting this together. the information you shared will help me!. Thanks again and God bless.
ОтветитьMr. Dee Schrinner is the dude! Consider having him on more episodes. I have the Laguna 14BX and I still enjoyed his discussion of it.
ОтветитьI don't have a bandsaw, I would like one, but as of now I can't financially afford one. Lord willing, when I start to earn money i can reinvest in my business. 😊
ОтветитьThis is actually a very informative video. Thanks to the both of you for sharing.
ОтветитьI'm amazed you were able to get Jimmy Stewart to teach us how to use a bandsaw ;-)
ОтветитьI gotta get one of those resaw king blades.
ОтветитьThere are tons of used bandsaws no need to spend thousands. I got 4 from small to huge and paid under $200 for them all. Just look for good deals and bandsaws that need a little service. Also, you can buy rolls of bandsaw blades for like a dollar per foot. Making your own blades to your length is easy and soooo much cheaper.
ОтветитьWow. Glad I got my 14” Rikon for 800 bucks brand new on a father’s day sale back before the ‘Rona years
ОтветитьI already own a band saw, don't need another one. But your content is still 100% worth watching. Always a learning experience. Feels like I'm spending time with a friend. Thank you for your hard work and shared experiences.
Ответитьhis curved cut is a sperm😂😂😂
ОтветитьDidn't know you were going to be here in town. I would have stopped by to meet you. Just down the road from us.
ОтветитьI almost jumped through my phone to scruff ya and pull you away on that thumbnail lol.
ОтветитьAs a new band saw owner I found this video very informative. Thanks for putting it together!
ОтветитьThis was super helpful for me. My dad gave me his Shopsmith which also has a bandsaw, and I've always had some difficulty when using it. Certainly novice user error, but also setup and even some better guides which was eluded to here. I'll adapt and adjust and looking forward to better cuts🙂
Ответитьdownside to carbide blades, if you snap them after a year youll have to just buy another one from laguna if you want to use it again. if you snapped one every few years the timberwolf would still end up cheaper over time. it very much depends
ОтветитьOnly covered about half the essential adjustments. The rail the fence rides on relative to table. Table squareness to the side and back of blade and the fence itself are just a couple.
ОтветитьThat’s some great information about bandsaws, especially the blade options. And I love the shirt… its one of my favorite verses
Ответитьlove that, thank you
ОтветитьAmazing, really like this kind of video.
ОтветитьSome really great bandsaw information!
Thank you Matt and Dee!
EDITING REMARK: Check your spelling on "safety" there friend.
