Good review Dan👍👍 Great saws aren't they? I have a slightly larger Boreal 21 by Agawa Canyon, same folding action. A dedicated canvas pouch/sleeve combo for a saw and axe carries both perfectly for that woodland, camping and bushcraft wood processing solution. IMO, Silky saws are not as versatile or robust enough for rough camping, bushcraft use. Their blades are too fragile being designed for pruning and pull cutting only. Good choice on this one though, tough and gets the job done. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!

Having witnessed in person the way young Dan "looks after" his kit I can tell you this is a study item indeed! Seen it many times in the flesh , a great tool (the saw not Dan)

Thanks Dan. Good to see a review of something a couple of years old. Probably a lot out there wouldn't go the distance. Cheers Evan.

Fantastic no nonsense review there Dan, I like the way you abuse that saw, I've seen you at fist hand whacking off your wood 😀 (with the butt of the saw) I always thought it wouldn't last TBH but I might get myself one now, the Bacho is fine for smaller tasks but it's not ideal as you know. Nice one 👍

Looks like a descent saw. Being a fold up and all.

That is indeed a good saw Dan, I have seen you use it quite hard in the woods a few times. Surprised you have only just changed the blade but I guess most of the wood you cut is dry so a little less harsh on the edge of the teeth. Nice one, Warren :)

G'day Dan, yep a reliable option mate as you've proven over time. Good point on doubling the thickness by coming in from the other side, might sound obvious but many folks seem to forget that. Cheers Duke.

Glad to hear the present from Mrs CLB is still going strong 💪 I almost bought this saw myself, but I already had a new laplander and one of them Amazon bucksaws.

I hope all is well with you and team CLB?

All the best mate 👍

Good review, however your cutting would be much more efficient if you used the entire length of the blade. All your cutting shots show a very short stroke not taking advantage of the full 12 inches of blade. cheers!

I have two saw blades with me. One too soft wood and one too hard wood. What you have there looks like it is for soft wood.

hmmm by looking at how it saws I would think my portable samurai pull saw cuts better, and it's not limited by the thickness of the timber

The other real big trick to this style of saw, use the entire blade length when sawing. Short strokes just wear it out and can overheat it.

Nice compact bow saw, good to be able to store a second blade, one can be for green wood and one for dead/dry wood as the teeth geometry are different.

Good review thanks but I have one point regarding the size of log that can be cut. If you can rotate the log and cut from each side you can cut almost twice the diameter.
