Don't need to rate him. He has held his own at every camp including Steph Curry's camp with pros.

What NBA player that has played with him agrees that he is overrated?

I agree with everything you said and i'm glad you said something about evaluators being held accountable because people believe them YEAR AFTER YEAR no matter how wrong they are, but...i also think that some of it falls on the player seeing as how they are literally the ones that have to get out on the court and perform. I know that everybody isn't Lebron James but he was 16 or 17 on the cover of Sports Illustrated beibg called the Chosen One, but that target on his back didn't make him fold. It's a mental thing and while i do think the media has a way of persuading people and people LOVE to hate, i think the player has more responsibility for their own development than anyone else. I mean...they were in preschool a long time ago. When you are a recruit it's time to get to work and get in the weight room and get better and nobody should have to tell you to do that. Also...i remember Chet Holmgren being hyped up because of the Curry camp. A lot of people said he would never be strong enough for the NBA. Look at him now. Thriving.

I disagree. Cooper Flagg will be the #1 NBA pick in 2025. He'll be a perennial All-Star player. I like A.J. Dybantsa more, however. I think A.J. has a chance to be a generational dude winning MVPs.

being called “overrated” at 17 is crazy. how can these people go to sleep at night? they see him play once, they start building him up, only to tear everything down when there’s a chance to do so. Just let the kid play, let him be good, we don’t need to have a “generational” talent every 2 years

This is so true. The pressure to succeed is so fucking like intense for me I can’t imagine if I was a star athlete making millions in highschool while everyone is expecting me to be great at ball. I think Cooper has the mentality to keep perceiving as well as his mom has always sacrificed everything for him so he should be fine hopefully

Really like Cooper Flagg lol but your conversation is really important - another thought: once you get hype and media attention there isn’t really any “going back”. You’re either the kid who failed who was the number 5 recruit in high school in your own eyes or the people you meet eyes in your own head or you keep playing well but after a point you fucking hate your sport. I had a girlfriend who was a really good volleyball player at a D1 college and i had asked her towards the end of her 4 years, she had set school records and all this shit, if she was considering trying to compete at a high level after college in someway, and she was down to never look at a weight for the rest of her life, which was basically her response. She just hated it. Ironically she ended up playing woman's pro football lol. But as someone who is a coach and who dedicated his life personally to health, it was disheartening to see someone work their ass off to where they were good enough to take even another step and just basically say they had the joy of the sport sucked out of them to where they don't even want to use their talent.

His game reminds me of 15-16 Draymonds game. Where he is elite defensively and reads the game really well and is a great connector on offense but the get you a bucket is still behind and shooting is ok not great. Both he and draymond during that stretch would hit 3s if open but shot quality has to be relatively high

Justin Edwards fell because of his age (turns 21 early in rookie year), limited shooter, didn't improve as a FT shooter and did show the same promise as a prospect in highschool.

He went undrafted because of Klutch.

Klutch have a history of telling front offices to not draft guys so they can dictate where certain prospects go.

Usually happens at back end of the 2nd round where the money v opportunity different not great.

Example Austin Reaves going undrafted when he could have gone in late 30's, mid 40's.

Reaves was a really good college player, older prospect.

Reaves went undrafted so he could go to a big market team like the Lakers who needed guards.

Justin edwards is from Philadelphia and so Klutch got him to be undrafted so he could go back home to Philly and play for the 76ers.

These rankings are all fake. They profile which players will be easy to control and hype them up to make them seem legit. As long as they don’t completely suck you can hide them on a college roster and sneak them onto an NBA roster. They really use the hype machines to direct where they want certain players to go. I went to school with IMG execs children, so I got to see how it works. The average fan just believes the media. It’s so easy to manipulate reality when people have pre conceived beliefs. He has no bag, low IQ, average athleticism and was a role player on a good team in HS. Caitlin Clark had manipulated stats and is not even a good white player. Sabrina I is a way better and was also overhyped. But nobody barred back then so she didn’t blow up. This time they found a perfect heel character in Angel Reese to help CC since CC has zero personality.
