Want to stimulate housing? Plan and build modest and functional homes like our parents and grandparents started in or even lived their lives in. Who really needs 2500 square feet or more with luxury bathrooms, granite, high end flooring and manicured yards? First time buyers are trying to keep up with the Joneses. Same with cars where 40 years ago a German sedan meant you were rich. Now every street is full of BMWs, Audis, Mercedes and VWs. Gas guzzling pickups still lead the market and cost more than some houses did a few years ago. No wonder we are in a massive debt bubble that WILL result in pain for years for million as all of the economic factors converge.
