How to Laser Engrave Anything with the xTool D1 Laser Cutter/Engraver

Does anyone have or know where to get a chart for XTool 10watt Cutter, that shows basic power and speed settings. I'm burning up a lot of material trying to find just the right settings. If you have one can you put a link so us beginners have a plase to start

Juast got my D1 20 watt. Question. Can I adjust the thickness of the etching or am I limited to the width of the laser. I would like my outline of an item to be a little thicker.

I want to do coffee tables - how do I find one with a frame large enough to cover a decent sized wooden coffee table?

I suggest you don't try selling anything with superheroes on it unless you want to be sued. 😉 Please don't think that because 4000 other Etsy shops are doing it that you're going to be lucky and not get caught. It's not worth losing everything you've worked so hard to build.

Does anybody have this laser and also has a mopa 60w or similar? Is the price jump worth the mopa?

Instead of using paint thinner (which is chemically designed to thin oil based paints), you should be using acetone for spray paints where they are ether based. Plus, you wash off the waste into a plastic or metal container, not down your drain where it will pollute your water system (either town water or your water table if you have a leach field).

I am new to this product and found it exceptionally helpful. I've watched others re: set up of the new unit including the build and you are heads above the rest. You said it's a long video, I find it to be the most informative and I appreciate you covering all the bases.

This guy is full of 💩. Honestly, first things falling out his mouth ... incorrect. I've worked with lasers the last 10 yrs and that might not make me expert, but I have a ton of experience working with and using fiber, CO2, and Diode lasers... and trust me folks there are major differences in type and quality in the marketplace.

Matt I also have a question about how to get my business started with the XTool laser. Any ideas? And how did you know that the hammer that you engraved would sell for about $40?

Why not laser on 100% and speed up? (instead of power 70% with 126mm/s) would this give the same result? I'm planning on buying a laser but very much dislike the waiting as I did with my 3D printing. So many hours. So, speed is key for me. Any advise?

No, no, no, this is wrong. $1,000.00+ for a low-powered diode laser????
Not trying to cause any trouble, but for that money, you can get a much stronger CO2 laser, with faster and deeper cuts.
For what it's capable of, it should not cost more than $500.

Hello! I am having issues with my Xtool D1 Pro Laser. I received it and tried it, the first try was perfect. Then the second time I tried it wouldn't work. The laser would move around but the laser light barely had any strength. It would move around as if it was doing the job and would take the amount of time the project would take, however there were no marks on the plywood or anything and the light was very very weak. You could barely see. I emailed customer service and it has now been a 3 month battle or recommendations and changes they want me to make which I have but nothing has solved the issue. I went ahead and tried another laser head which is the one for metals. I did 1 dog tag that came out beautiful. I went ahead and tried to do another dog tag....same thing happened....the light was too weak barely visible, the laser would move around as if it was doing de project but nothing would engrave. I didn't change anything on the setting from first project to second. I was working with pre-establish material settings. Power speed and all was verified and still nothing. Do you have any idea what it could be or how to fix it?
