Share Your Valuable Lessons Learned - The Brilliance Mine

Someone asked me what advice I might give if you were scared to share something that you experienced and maybe was really painful and even embarrassing. Perhaps, alright, I get it. Don't we all have those things when you think about your jar again? You know, that could be this marble right here, and this is really valuable. So my advice is, do share it. Find the courage to share it. And you know what? This will do. Not only will it pass on that knowledge, but it will do something amazing in your team because you can.

**Sharing Vulnerable Experiences**

Lead with vulnerability and say, "Listen, guys, we're learning probably more from our mistakes than we're learning from what has gone right." Because sometimes things go right because you get lucky. And if you breed a culture of vulnerability where people are willing to say, "Yeah, I do make mistakes, and I learn from them," then that's a pretty cool thing. That really is empowering to your team. And that makes you an even better leader. And by the way, if you're in an area like science, let's say, or maybe software development or so forth where we don't do vulnerability, I have to tell you that in some of those companies, they do a little bit of vulnerability. Not in Kumbaya, they say, "Yeah, mistakes do happen, and here's one, and here's a big one, and here's what I learned from it. Try it, see what happens."

**Embracing Mistakes in Professional Fields**

If you're in an area like science or software development, where vulnerability might seem uncommon, it's essential to recognize that even in those fields, acknowledging mistakes and learning from them can be beneficial. Companies in such domains may not openly embrace vulnerability in a touchy-feely way, but acknowledging and discussing mistakes can foster a culture of continuous improvement.
