Ответитьwow great review
ОтветитьAlthough, lord, Henry thought that his corrupting of Dorian Gray was harmless to himself. It was not. Dorian Gray cost him his wife, his best friend and his reputation ( although it wasn’t the best in from the start). I think that people started to notice that Lord Henry,
was a corrupted force. His association with Dorian Gray cast a light on his character.
It’s fun to note that Lord Henry was the exact moderation of purity and pleasure. He used Dorian as a way to gauge how tainted a spirit could be if left to pure rationalisation. Which is weird because he mention “Moderation is fatal”. He was indeed a paradox but it wasn’t purely naïveté that convinced Dorian. There was a part of cruelty that existed- very philosophical but the purity carries within itself a seed of hell, and Lord Henry which can rightly be symbolic of ego fed on the id like urges, thrashing the superego. So to say to embrace all is misleading…To define is to limit. There is no right or wrong, there is only a certain degree of morality to be exercised at all times
ОтветитьLord Henry fuckin sucks
ОтветитьHow does the painting change, is that explained or just suggested as mystical and Supra natural?
Ответитьthe paintings that were done by two brothers for the tv movie are in the art museum in chicago.very creepy.
ОтветитьBooks on tape. I rather read the book. Keeping it real.. Downey California ❤
ОтветитьWhat’s funny is, Basil didn’t want Dorian to be poppin pussy bc he wanted Dorian to clap his cheeks. That shit was hilarious

Can someone help me out with that last part: “…all renunciation, brings its own punishment”. I am struggling to wrap my mind around completely renouncing smoking for example. Why wouldn’t someone want to renounce a bad thing completely?
