Thing is I keep hearing horror stories from teachers as that’s what he is that if you break contract early they don’t let you leave or pay you. Everything is included in package, accommodation ect. It’s seems a no brained but I’m worried. We have 2 kids & wander how it will be for them

As a Indian who was brought up in Qatar I can say indians own large businesses in Qatar n plays major role in their growth n economy however I have recently moved to Canada bcox however the pay may be it's not worth living in a weird society. No much freedom have to live under another person who decides our fate . Yourself as a white British guy might not have faced much of a problem but when it comes to other nationals it's not the same. I personally know many indians who had bad experience.. My dad has business n his sponsor was a aggressive guy. Honestly we have to pay huge taxes in Britain or Canada but it's worth living in West. Yes ofcox there are negatives a bit of racism or Islamophobia n all that but not in a large scale I personally have never experienced anything like that people are respectable n nice. People respect my talent n pay me as per my talent unlike Qatar where even if I have much higher IQ n better knowledge than a western guy with British or American passports I will be paid less than a Westerner... They have all the sharia n islamic strict rules n all that but the qataris themselves are absolute a*holes who travel abroad n do drugs drink alcohol goes to brothels does all the haram stuff n then come back to Qatar n pretend to be a very good god fearing muslim lol.. If u wanna escape tax then I recommend Dubai since there's much more freedom n ig there's no system of kafala too. U don't need sponsor to do business.

hi, you said you need a degree to get a drivers license. what do you mean degree? i thought you’re able to get a drivers license as long as you have one in your home country.

Thank you Richard for your inputs - I would like to ask for your opinion on - What I should be asking in terms of package for a Product&Marketing related position which is paid around 70k Euros in Germany ( almost same around 60-70k£ in the UK) -- I am keen on going so it wouldn't be a sacrifice for money but still want to get paid well, live comfortably and save enough for future.

What advice would you have? Around how much should I be looking to ask?

To be honest drunk man are really scary for me as women, so I am happy they take them away. I don't participate in Ramadan but I recommend you too see it as one month of dieting and healthy eating. So indirectly you are participating with them

Take it from me. These oil rich gulf countries will only look after their own citizens and care less for the visitors that are in their land.
Hence the typical example of the accident you stated proved that they will side with their lot and point the finger at you or any other visitor. Forget going over there mate, sounds dodgy.
