As a resident in the N.O. area, I can say that, food in this city is overrated, overpriced swill. The kitchens in majority of the restaurants are absolutely disgusting, roach and rat infested sh*t holes. Save your time and money and visit somewhere else. I wouldn’t waste my time in ANY metro in the US.

Anthony Bourdain was not qualified to do a serious review of the New Orleans food scene. That was a fly by attempt at relevancy.👎

Emeril's is good but it's not in the heart of the French quarters it's in the heart of the warehouse district

I can’t believe snake and jakes still exists, it always felt like some bar on the edge of existence in the 90s…

Just a residents personal opinion here.

Jacque-Imo's, Cochon, Willie Mae's definitely highly recommended to any visitor.
As for Domilise's, they're a little pricey for the small portions and have extremely limited seating inside (literally 5 tables). Parkway Bakery is without a doubt the best po-boy centered eatery in the city. Overstuffed and insanely economical for the portions. No hate on Domilise's, I grew up less than a mile from it and it's been a mainstay of uptown for a ridiculously long time.
Was kinda surprised to see so many "bar food" establishments listed over other choices, but also acknowledge that finding the late night or rush hour meal can be very difficult and for that reason, definitely any visitor should be aware of the less hyped establishments.
Always love watching these videos. Thanks for sharing.

Jaques-Imo’s is worth it. Always good food. Bring your appetite for Southern Creole food. Domilise’s is my favorite po’boy shop in NOLA. They’re small in comparison to others but delicious.
