When someone describe martial art (or anything) as "hidden", "revived", "resurrected", it means it didn't actually exist. Cos if something is so ancient and precious, people have to carry the tradition in continuity from era to era. Muaythai NEVER say it's a hidden martial art, or revived, or resurrect, or any of those "lost in time" thing. Thai people practiced and carried on from ancient time to present - non stop. The presence of Muaythai have been visible in old wall murals, paintings, old photos, then to films. The first films ever filmed about Thai boxing was as early as 1920s. People have seen its evolution and improvement all the way to present days. Now the question is.... why the " lost/ hidden boxing" from Thai neighboring countries looks like present day Muay Thai- with Muaythai-style short-short and all??
