How are you Tim, Thank you for uploading this video it helped me a great deal. I will able to get the Divi theme uploaded with no problem. Making sure you keep the file zipped(Do not unzipped it before you install, to make sure it installs properly) until you install it, as you mention is very important. You were one of the only people that I learned to put you API Key(In Accounts on the Elegant Website) and username in the Options(On Dashboard) for Divi to have auto updates for Pluggins and the Theme. This seems very important and I'm glad I did as you taught. I believe this would save me lots of time, money and headaches, down the line. I want to help people in mainly in the area of Educating young children, and adults in mathematics since I know so much about it. Also promoting young children to be business owners or Entrepreneurs is another one of my ambitions, I also want to produce content in area on a blog that I will have soon to help people in the area of Health, outdoor activities, technology, and others. Way too freakin' hard for a beginner. Elegant Themes lies when they say anyone can build a website with there themes. Nope. Not true. You've got to be seasoned in Wordpress to use this.

HI Tim - I like your style and content, but when you say 'download the divi theme' are you talking about the parent them or a child theme from Elegant Themes? I have heard you can have nightmares if you format your website in the parent theme and they then update WP because this can screw up all your formatting and cause you hours of extra work to sort out/ As I am not a coder, this terrifies me actually.
If this is risk exists when using the divi parent theme, would it not make sense to use a child theme alongside the Divi parent theme and if so, how does one install the child theme? Does one have to de-activate the parent theme? Does it sit alongside the divi parent theme in one's WP dashboard and if so, how can one check that both are there? If the answer to any of these is yes, then how do you download a child theme after downloading the Divi parent theme? I have been asking this question of various people for weeks and no-one has answered this properly. I am going nuts here. Can you or anyone else help? I'd be so grateful.

Hi Tim.trying to learn WordPress. Followed most of what you did.Good video to reference but mine does not work like yours.Darn it. I really appreciate seeing the install from someone else. I already had installed Divi 3.02 to my Wordpress Server as specified by the ET video instructions. However, my Divi just does not work as they say! I tried to upload my custom Logo but nothing happens. I also tried your custom pallette inside the Divi Theme Options same as with your video.Note. I successfully uploaded a 3.2MB image file to my Wordpress server as a test. Nothing happens with DIvi 3.02 when it comes to customising that theme as opposed to yours! ie. I cannot specify a custom pallette either. It just didn't do anything either. Any idea what would prevent Divi 3.02 customising from working? Divi Theme is installed but I have created a child theme of Divi as good practice and to test. Perhaps you could tell me more technical info like what OS version and browser works for you? I am new to Wordpress but very very experienced with computers and servers. I can assure you, this is not obvious to me. I should mention I did not want to enter the API key and did not want autoupdates happening for the version of Divi as I did not want the version changing until my dev and testing was complete. I have tried Firefox, Opera(current version) and Chrome browsers on Windows 7 to try to get the Divi 3.02 Theme Options to work. I have never seen Divi Theme work except in your video. Divi just doesn't work! This stuff should be straightforward. If you know of any reason why the Divi theme wouldn't work when trying to use a custom logos etc . Any ideas to get Divi 3.02 working, I surely would appreciate it. Please be as technical and specific as you need. Talk about road blocks and bashin my head against the wall. I have followed all the doco and prerequisites they specify for it...

On Divi General Settings what type file should I upload on the Logo? Jpeg, PNG or AI? Thank you so much!

You are on point, and 100 percent knowledgeable on this subject. As a newbie to Wordpress, you are making life very very easy for me to learn. Keep up the Great work you are doing....I will be going over your series on Divi step by step, inch by inch.

Tim, your videos are really working for me. I'm new to WP, and Divi. Great, up to date info, and I really like (appreciate) the Divi lesson using the front page builder. I've looked at a LOT, and bought a few (out of date) lessons and videos on "how to". Yours is working for me. I was studding WP, and Divi 2 hours a night, but just got lost in "the other tutorials" and just kept hitting road blocks. Since I found your videos (about 4 days ago) I'm back to my 2 hour per night commitment.
