Why don’t the Space Wolves have any Successor Chapters? | Warhammer 40k Lore

What would happen if the Wolves faced off against the Blood Angel's?

I've been working on a homebrew Space Wolves successor chapter which basically combines the melee brutality of the Wolves with the Psyker power of the Grey Knights, due to the fact that instead of giving their Fenrisian aspirants the Canis Helix Geneseed, they give them the Psyker Geneseed of Big E himself.

They were created when a former Rune Priest and his squad tried to fight off a sudden Daemon incursion, only for all of his brothers to die in the process before he could finally finish off the ascended Daemon Prince that caused the incursion in the first place. He swore to wage an eternal crusade of vengeance against not just that particular Daemon Prince, but all of Chaos itself. A lot of Space Wolves heard about this one-man war and basically said "count me in, bruh!" before joining him on his crusade.

But it took a few centuries of constantly hunting and slaughtering Daemons Doom Slayer style before the High Lords on Terra finally gave them the sanction to be officially recognized as a true successor Chapter, at which point their available resources got a LOT bigger, including implanting their aspirants from then on with Big E's Psyker Geneseed to become that much more effective at serving Chaos a generous helping of it's own ass.

Shame they wrecked space wovles with 10th edition absolute trash weapon choices now for wolfguard

The out of universe reason was because all the unique moulds SW have would also need to be available to successors, so would need to be edited to exclude the SW iconography

My question is why dont they just make more normal space wolves without changing the geneseed and just make them into different chapters? They obviously make more space wovles for their chapter, why do their geneseeds have to change at all? @Majorkill you should make a video explaining why successor chapters need different geneseed.

Everyone has that one friend whose REALLY into wolves, who just think wolves are the best.
They can best gorillas and bears because “Wolves are pack animals.”.

So the reason they don’t hate any successor chapters, is because the guy who created them, is just like that friend we all have, so “there’s no point. When they’re the ultimate being.”

It would make the way their librarians train to be even more exhaustingly complex.

Guiliman and the custodes didnt bully big wolfy boy into taking the primaris, Guiliman even kneeled before big wolf boi and in the book atleast the custodes dont engage with the space wolfs, it was actually better/dumber then that
big wolf boi is having none of it, they dont want ultramarines in wolfs clothing.
one of the leaders of the great company's had snuck a pack of primaris wolfs onto Fenris, one of sed primaris marines got sick of the space wolfs telling him he could never be a space wolf cos he was not a fenrisian and hadnt taken the trials
so my mad lad Gaius jumps out of the transport carrier armour less straight onto Fenris
all the wolfs are like yep hes 100% dead, cos of where he jumped it was even harder then the trials of morkei
mad lad helps some fenrisian physker make it to the wolfs, then kills 3 imperials to protect the woman
and thats what does it, untill then big wolf boi has told the big G man to fuck off use his wolfy primaris to make successor chapters he doesnt give a fuck, is about to take all the remainng OG wolfs on a hectic suicide mission cos he thinks its the end times and his daddy iss guna come save the day
but changes his mind after hearing the primaris killed 3 imperial lackys to protect a fenrisian
after that its kind of rushed imo and it just cuts to the space wolfs and there 3500 primaris reinforcments stomping orcs
but big G is littrelly about to leave with the space wolf primaris reinforcements when big wolf hears that the primaris killed some fools, i REALLY wish the book showed how the conversation of big wolfy boi changing his mind went cos they just litrelly brushed over that, its littrelly fuck of G man fuck of custodes we dont give a shit, to hey look at all 4k of us fuck up these orcs, kinda dumb imo

book is Dawn of Fire 3: The Wolf Time by Gav Thorpe if anyone is curious, i personally wouldnt bother reading it, its 90% just orignal spacewolfs acting like lil clicky bitches. best part of the book imo is the dialogue between a historita and the chillest custodian to ever live

Could there be a space marine subfaction where lost dark angles joined with the maws of fenris and maybe even became sea wolves , I have some very old dark angles miniatures and I have a 2003 games day space wolf priest , I would like to paint together into something coherent? True, I've never owned a Space Wolf Codex, but has this always been canon or did they recently decide this has totally always been true notakebacksies? I ask, because I've been playing since 4th and this week is the first time I've ever heard of Space Wolves not having any successors. Did I just never hear this by pure chance, or what?

why is it so important for the space wolves to be able to create successor chapters? like, if they want to do their rimg of wolves around the eye of terror plan, can't they just recruit more guys and divide the command?

Did Majorkill already talk about what happened to those Astartes who remained loyal from the traitor legions? I kind of assumed they would have either been killed off soon after the legion going traitor or some how join other legions.

A quarter million astartes in a legion? Sounds insane. I always thought the average or normal number was 100,000 but yeah no wonder the Emperor took over so much of the galaxy.
