Barramundi are not fussy when it comes to bait but as the rule stands, fresh is best. This can be in the form of fish like perch or poddy mullet; both are top barra baits. If you are unable to access fresh bait, all good tackle stores will have frozen poddy mullet or even mullet strips.

I hate tin spam and corn beef

Minnows, prawns, herring, and mullet are all good live bait choices. If you're using lures, try to use ones that mimic the freshwater barramundi's natural prey such as minnow lures.

Breakfast- maple bacon 6 slices cut in 1cm slices heat frying pan add bacon dice a onion add to frying pan and dice a tomato add to frying pan add basil salt pepper and raw sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes and serve

I’ve never done Cape York or the Kimberly but my number 1 travel goal is to trek through the Kimberly and catch a Kimberly Barra. Doesn’t get anymore Australian than that I think.

Grated carrots, raisons, curry powder, cucumber, mayonnaise and condensed milk, all stirred up and served as a desert. We used to dish this up to clients on the last night of 6-day rafting trips. Try it!

I love the Corned Beef and Spam recipe. That Spam sliced and fried lightly would go nicely with Hot Damper or scones for brekky.
