iPhone XS vs. Pixel 3 camera shootout

I am still using pixel 3a and it stands out for taking awesome pictures ❤️

*HELP! Anybody had this problem? (much less SOLVED it?)*
My Google Pixel 3 main camera (NOT selfy-cam) will not focus to save my life (*UNLESS* the item is only 4-6 inches away; focus is LOCKED, somehow).

Tried every camera app on my phone (office lens, open camera, the built-in camera app...) ; tried uninstalling & reinstalling; tried reverting/resetting/changing the settings; tried manual vs automatic photo mode... you name it! Tried starting phone in safe mode, restarting the phone like 50 times...
Recharging the phone... The lens is not dirty; I have cleaned it.

So the camera will literally focuses on an item that's about four to six inches away. But it will not focus anything further away it's all blurry. Ironically enough the selfie cam actually works still! at least there's that. But the other camera is supposed to be much better resolution... This is the main reason I even bought this darn phone in the first place. FYI: just got the camera in mint condition 3 MONTHS AGO. I have NOT done recent software/app upgrades/installs...

I seldom take videos . Videos take lots of space anyway .
So pixel for me . Point and shoot .

The Xs won overall. Only slightly behind on still images but leagues ahead in video and better in zoom.

Stay away from Google Pixel phones!! They work fine for a while but then (in my case, 10 months after buying) Google updated the camera app. Guess what happened? What has been happening to thousands of users since Google started making phones, an update will ruin the camera completely, it will crash every time you try to use it (fatal camera error). You're left with an expensive phone without a camera. This happened with my Google Pixel 2 XL but there's reports of the issue with all of their models, including this Google Pixel 3 XL. Google does NOT have a solution to this. If you want to confirm this, you only need to go to the Play store and search for the "Google camera app" go to the 1star reviews and you'll find the thousands of affected users talking about their experience (note that many 5 stars reviews are obviously bot accounts) Again, Google does not give you a solution. Google SUCKS. The same that happened with Google + when they tried to be Facebook is going to happened with Google Pixel: EPIC FAIL 👎🏽

I'm a Pixel 2 XL owner and I have to admit, Iphone is better in both photo and video tests.
Google, pleeease make some magic improvements for funky white balance and colors, crashed shadows, highlight rendition, microphone quality and video department, thank you ! Great review CNET , congratulations. 👍

Honestly to say that iPhone cameras always natural and better than any other smartphone even tho they are expensive. People only hate to iPhone because of price.

Having my iPhone XS Max for a week now I’m not impressed with the camera at all. I actually think the 7Plus had a better camera. The auto smoothing the XS does is horrible.

2018 cameras are really close unlike 2017. Yes Pixel's Night Sight wins out but o/a I'd call it a draw especially with the XS brilliant video capability. Pity the XS software is still only out of the ark.

Pixel 3 totally destroyed Iphone XS with 1 sensor vs 2, and now, google night sight roasted any apple software features

Combine them together, you get a iPixel X costing you about 3 kidneys.
