Can you direct me to know how I can get my herd of goats to be if it the creation. Who should I hook up with?

How to heal the earth. What your doing to save the creation is at the heart of what man has been created for. You can rest at night knowing you are kings of the creation. Bravo.

I’m surprised to learn that you have forest fires in Portugal. We don’t get that news in America. Here the focus is on California every year. More recently it was Hawaii. Thanks for sharing your work.

The most incomprehensible question is how, without the help of people, trees grew all over the planet in prehistoric times?

You guys are doing amazing work and I absolutely love watching your videos. I am an environmental science student and am curious if any options have been explored to add additional types of plantings in the more difficult areas where the trees did not survive - species that would retain moisture and reduce soil temperatures so the surviving trees populations could expand uphill. This would be something similar to the air dropped lupine fixing nitrogen and readying the soil for birch planting in the Iceland project. I am still learning, but have read of similar projects in Afghanistan and areas in North Africa that have had great results. Thank you again for your incredible work and amazing content!

You don't have to plant anything. Stuff will regrow on its own. I live in an area that burned to a crisp in 2015. You should see it now.

Olá!
Feliz Ano 2024!
Vi o vosso video e achei o vosso trabalho tremendamente interessante, essencial e fascinante!

I hope it's okay to say this, but i feel the reason you had trouble planting the trees in that area is exactly why there weren't any trees to grow. I get you needed to plant trees as part of the metric, and obviously trees have their place in the ecosystem, but before that there is a huge variety of herbs grasses shrubs and mosses like the colonizers you showed that might perform way better.

People look at trees because they are tall, but it's the small pioneer plants doing all the work before they basically move in and colonize shit lol. Makes you think.

Anyway, thanks about telling how you got funding though! Am trying to do the same thing at the moment and sometimes it just feels really lonely so this was heartening thank you.

As a Forester in The Western U.S. I have found that as areas that are denuded of Forest in Hot Mediterranean climates. The best areas to plant for success is in the drainage lowlands where water is channeled and can be captured and stored longer during the dry seasons. Just a thought for next planting projects.

Fires are essential for healthy landscapes.
The problem arises with frequency.
The fire temperature is also critical. Very hot fires can kill and cook plants and seed banks.
Cool fires do not necessarily kill everything, and they return nutritious ash to the soils and stimulate new growth.

Wild fires is mostly a direct result of 2 things:

- Human activities and it's creeping growth in presence near natural areas,
- Absolute and total abandonment of natural cattle farming.

Only decades ago the overwelming majority of meat consumed by Portuguese people came from either familly farms or sheppard oriented villages who produced thousands of animals.

Every summer, hundreds of thousands of animals would migrate trough the mountains all around the country in order to get access to fesh grass and food in higher grounds how that lower fields would be occupied with cereal and other crops for human consumption.

With the advent of modern agriculture and tyranical EU regulations that stop any citizen to be successful financially by shepherding like in the old ways, most forests and mountains have been left totally unnatended thus creating many of those endless fires.

This is a DIRECT result of humans both stopping their natural relation with nature AND meddeling with it with their presence and activities.

There are no more free herds and there will NEVER be again. At least in significant numbers. As such, the only way to keep fires controlled is to bring back ancestral ways to produce food.

Until new and more honest political paradigms come forth and allow common people to compete in the markets with their local products, the rural world will be abandoned and fires will still be a thing. Countries with wet winters and very warm dry summers cannot avoid fires without people managing the land.
