$1 per shot? Hi, I'm Will I'm from the future 2023, 2+ years after this video was posted. .308 Win is now $2.39 a round when buying in bulk by the tin. Ouch, time have changed.
ОтветитьI clarify that I don't listen to the video because I don't know English..... as they always say, practice makes the champion, the first rifle requires a 223, a 223 with a suppressor silences even with pvc pipes, then choose, 243 or 270 and overlap everything learned with the 223
ОтветитьThe 308 will take any game here in Australia with good shot placement.
Ответить3 stars
ОтветитьGday ozzie , hope alls well mate , iv learnt heaps of ur videos , im stepping up to 308 now , i gotta tikka t3x 223 and a 22 lr cz 452 ,whats ur favourite 308 to shoot ? , im thinkin lithgow 1a 102 or sako 85 🤔
ОтветитьAlso it's super easy to reload it can be accurate with a wide range of powders and bullet weights. It's not finicky like some cartridges that have to have the perfect bullet with the perfect charge weight. And that makes it even cheaper. Thank you 👍
ОтветитьThe recoil and muzzle blast on the 308 are so mild, a huge reduction even from the 30 06.
ОтветитьWhere do I get it for the 1 dollar a shot mate? My local stores are about 2 bucks a shot. Send me broke just to become proficient.
Ответитьhello mate, fresh gun owner here. I was just wondering if that 308 soft tip in 180 grain is good enough for deer? and also would it be too much for a fox?
ОтветитьI use 308 for elk ,deer , coyote , wolf and bear hunting . No reason to go overkill with something bigger when it gets the job done . My main hunting and plinking caliber for 43 years . I hunt alot if canyons and other rough areas . After 43 years , I know how to shoot those shots . I am not sure how many 308 rifles I have in the safes anymore .
Ответитьcan you do a beginner video on gun safes?
ОтветитьGreat video,Can you do the 7mm-08.
ОтветитьIf you were to choose a caliber for hunting dogs-small deer would you say 243 or 308 mate?
ОтветитьHere in Norway we hunt at short to medium distances and many likes our rifles with shorter barrels because we put silencers on. Then the recoils drops. The 308 burn all the gasses and one can cut the barrel shorter than the other like 6,5, 3006 etc.
Ответить308 is a great caliber. The best in my opinion. Affordable, available, powerful and the recoil isnt that bad
Ответить308WIN fans are like the Collingwood football team fans of the gun world. I’ll never understand the obsession with a mediocre cartridge like that. Sure it’s ok... but it’s certainly not the best thing since sliced bread like so many make it out to be. That may be a little harsh but it’s also true.
ОтветитьWhere can you buy them at AU$1 per round? In Sydney its more like $3-4..
ОтветитьPaying $2 a round in cairns
ОтветитьYou're only going to find 308 right now in a very remote gun shop.
Ответить👍👍😁
ОтветитьGoing for my license soon. And my first rifle. And camel hunting is on the radar.
So I'm looking at a 308 for hunting and also a .22LR for club events.
U guys rekon a 15 year old can handle the kick
ОтветитьI loved my FN C1A1 in 7.62x51 NATO when I was in the army. Because of that, I have owned a Savage 99 and a Tikka T3, both in .308. They have put a lot of venison on the table over the years. My favourite is the 150 grain because the flat trajectory is great for long range shots, and the mass is sufficient to bring down the largest bucks with a single shot. I know guys who have used it for moose even. Great round.
ОтветитьDo a pro and con on the 6.5 swede its really popular here in canada
ОтветитьOne more pro of the 308 Winchester is it doesn’t burn out barrels like a lot of other cartridges can do. Owning a heavy barrel bolt action, for me the recoil is mild. Unlike my 7MM Rem Mag.
Ответить1. Ok boomer
2. People who say they can purchase 308 ammo anywhere, more often than not measure accuracy in, ''minute of pig''.
3. Designed for purpose carts are almost on parity now re cost
4. Theres faster longer range, lower recoiling, just as, or more effective carts that use less powder and have similar barrel life, 308 users: (boomers) sounds shit
$40+ for a box of 20 doesn't work out to $1a shot, my favourite caliber but
ОтветитьGreat video, time to design, produce, sell & use a new OzzieReviews Tablemat :-)
ОтветитьHere in Sweden the .308 Win is dominating the market. About 8 out off 10 new hunting rifles is a 308.
It used to be 6,5x55 and 30-06 with some .300 Win Mag. Manny of them now sits in a Gun Store with a discount sticker on them.
The .308 Win hits the sweet spot effect/recoil/hunting laws/general hunting distance here in Sweden.
That said, some people are starting to lock at the more heavy hitting rounds for the wild boars hunts.
"Recoil Sensitive "
Ответитьloving these ammo reviews, maybe 7mm08 next?
ОтветитьGood info
ОтветитьDon't forget the military utility and it's been used in full auto (GPMG and rifles).
ОтветитьThe humble .308 has been hitting V Bulls out to 1000 yards since the 1950's ;)
ОтветитьDo this with 270
ОтветитьLove 308
ОтветитьThe dual cab ute of the caliber world...
ОтветитьFor those of you who have never shot a 308 and worried about recoil, don't. My 11 year old step son put 3 rounds through a mates Sako A7 308 no dramas at all
Ответить6.5 creedmoor anyone? Still love my .308 though.
ОтветитьLove the review
Love to see 270 next
Hey Ozzie...at what age did u start shooting and how many years u been doing it..🤔
ОтветитьWas kind of expecting all the comments about how blokes love their .308 more than 6.5... but none, civil fans. 👍
ОтветитьKick pffft its only given you lovely cheek kisses.
ОтветитьI have owned all the .30 cals that you have mentioned and in my experience the 308 does everything the larger rounds do at sensible hunting ranges (350m) with less recoil and less powder if you reload. It’s knocking on the 30-06 door up to 165grain weight and is only down a couple of hundred fps with the 180 grain projectiles. Good video Ozzie.
ОтветитьGreat video! Cheers Ozzie
ОтветитьThanks mate, one of my staples. Effective, easily available, accurate, a good looking round and cheap. Kinda like my missus really.
ОтветитьPlease do a ruger .204 review especially vs a 223
ОтветитьYes great info 270 next please....keep up the great work mate
