How about v-ray 3D Max isn't it the same as v-ray SketchUp ?

vray is more beautiful and realistic, its price is lower, it has more settings, and you can control the materials better than Lumion. Vray does not require high running requirements like Lumion for this difference

D5 is the best best and best 👍

Lumion is so cozy but so expensive 😭 vray looks good but to advanced

I use Vray to render interiors and Lumion to render exteriors

I'm a practicing architect here and I used both lumion and vray. If you need to do a quick, easy and good enough presentation for your clients than lumion(and some other cheaper alternatives) is the one for you. If you're an advanced pro level technical archviz artist that wants super realistic presentation then vray it's for you. Honestly, most clients are happy with lumion. I only use vray for post built presentation as an extra service to the clients

Incredibly helpful explanations of both. I hadn't done a ton of research into either, and if you had led with "only V-Ray works on Mac", it would have made the video a very short one for me. But I am glad to know the differences and options. Perhaps Lumion will support Mac users one day?

I can't help but feel that this video is heavily biased and leaning to the side of Lumion and Vray is not dealt enough justice. A lot of points are arranged in a derogatory way towards Vray, as well as not all vray functions were announced while pretty much everything about Lumion was said. Me personally, I would go for Vray any day since it gives you unlimited control, possibilities and heights to grow, while Lumion is a very limited and speaking frankly, ugly looking tool to anybody with a background in archviz.

Great breakdown! I think I will prefer Lumion, since their development is also going very fast. Edit: Lumion 13 is rumored to have RTX support!

Want photorealism? -> Vray
Want easy workflow and a large library of assets -> Lumion

And remember the hardware configuration: V-Ray winner.

i'm kinda new to all this and just started learing sketchup, after i finish 3-d modelling a weapon that's obviously made of metal, am i supposed to throw it into lumion to give it a metal texture? how does UV mapping even work in sketchup? any extensions you'd recommend maybe?
