The image in my head of a horrified antony literally just jumping off his ship and swimming for another one might never be topped

Imagine what Agrippa could do with modern technology. The idea of Agrippa with infantry, navy, AND airforce scares me.

I think Cleopatra had planned to betray Antony from the start as she was very pragmatic and must've seen the writing on the wall prior to the battle of Actium that was to commence.

Just like she did to Caesar and Antony, I suspect her plan was to seduce Octavian once Antony was defeated after the battle. I guess seducing two of the most powerful men can get to your head. Plus, Octavian, time and again, was underestimated as a little child. Third times the charm, eh?

Anyways, I suppose she didnt think Antony would actually ditch his men and swim towards her as she tried to flee. Slipping away from the battle was easily her greatest mistake however, as the only way to keep her throne was through Antony's support. Octavian was never going to prop her up like his predecessors.

Betraying Antony simply sealed her fate which she must've realised after failing to negotiate with Octavian as a last ditch attempt.

Why did'nt Anthony capture the ports Agripa captured??? And just spent whole summer doing nothing?!
How is that even a strategy?!

My biggest question has always been why was the Egyptian army not an influence in this time? They were a large populous nation, were they not?

Could you do a video about what Antony was good for/at? It seems he is consistently the mediocre lieutenant, fumbling governance and living hedonistically. What were his talents and strengths? Why was he always able to be number 2?

This is what I love about history, each episode I change who I’m rooting for. As in Cicero’s finest hour, I was rooting for him and Octavian, and Antony was the enemy, but here it’s reversed. I guess I like the underdog.

I mean if Pompey lost in Greece that means Caesar won in Greece. If Brutus & Cassius lost in Greece then Octavian & Anthony won in Greece. I don’t see why Greece would be considered any better or worse then any other location.

Why is this channel so Basie against octivan I swear I don’t remember him ever defending or praising octivan it is always either he is very lucky and fortune or Agrippa actually did everything and octivan was just there staring at the sea or the sky ? when he is genius and brilliant politician who oversmart Cicero and good enough leader to realise the genius of Agrippa even if Agrippa come with everything in his own ( which is impossible) octivan still had to departed in every matter after all it his army I am sure that it the very least 50% of the plan were complain effort

You always make really good vids, but must you really have so many mid-roll ads? Every 1-2 minutes your script is cut up by an ad. I’m a creator, too, and I always turn them off out of respect to my audience. It really cuts into your performance
